Never bring a club to a sword fight.

We've all heard the admonition, "Never bring a knife to a gunfight." Only slightly less well known is the admonition, "Never bring a club to a swordfight."

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A samurai sword seriously injures a Terre Haute man sometime overnight on Friday at the intersection of 4th and Lincoln.
According to the Terre Haute Police, a man was inside his home when he became upset that headlights from a car on the street were shining into his bedroom.
That's when police say he got into a fight with the man in the car.

The man from the house eventually picked up a wooden club and then investigators say that's when the man from the car pulled out a samurai sword.

According to detectives, in the middle of the fight, the man with the sword sliced off three fingers from the man with the club.

Police say that the man was sent to an Indianapolis hospital to reattach his fingers.

Investigators talked to the man with the sword at the scene.

Police are still hoping to talk to more witnesses and get a clearer picture of exactly what happened.

In the mean time, the man with the sword is not facing any charges at this time.
Neither man's name has been released at this time.

The condition of the man who was taken to Indianapolis is also unknown at this time.

lol, This falls under Call police to deal with them. How do you let the man get out of his car and pull a samurai sword? But thanks for the good advise don't use wooden clubs against swords better yet buy better shades for your windows.

The part I have a problem with is, "...in the middle of the fight, the man with the sword sliced off three fingers from the man with the club." In the middle of the fight, the guy with the club loses three fingers... and then continues to put up as much fight for as long as he had prior to getting his digits sliced off.

I'd think, as the aggressor, the sight of multiple phalanges flying which formerly your own would tend to take a bit of the fight out of you.
