Do you want to play a game?

Think of the movie War Games. Do you want to play a game?

We are all posting our opinions and smoking out the Trolls. Waiting for what ever comes. The Trolls are laughing at us for wondering when Obama is going to come for our guns. They then go out into the yard to play catch with their kid like the Volkswagen commercial guy.

The rest of us go about talking about guns and politics, white privilege, communist infiltrators, and the like. Suddenly, you get the message on your screen, ‘UNABLE TO CONNECT” your internet connection has been lost.

Okay, you say, I have to go to the bathroom anyway. As you walk down the hall you see your spouse sitting in front of a blue TV screen, She says Honey we just lost our Cable. No big deal, It will be on again soon.
You decide that during the outage that it is a good time to go out and get a Twelve Pack of your favorite beer,
You grab the keys start the car and the radio is just spewing a gibberish type of static.

You then realize: Everything is off the Air. The car starts so you rule out EMP. As you turn the dial on your car radio, you get more static and white noise until you hear a voice.
Suddenly your house and all the lights around you go out.
The voice says This is the Emergency Broadcast System standby for an important message from the President of the United States.
It keeps repeating over and over again and your world has just gone black.

    What do you do next?

I'm assuming you're talking about obama granting himself executive power to take over all communications (for our own safety, of course).
OK, I'm up for suggestions. What are you going to do next?

I am anxious to read what others post. If it is a reader from a large metro city and the he/she is right in the middle it might be a lot different from the folks in rural areas. Me, I would make sure all the lanterns are full, mantles on the Coleman, flashlights handy (Had I bought a dreaded hand-gun, riot gun or massive assault rifle with a high capacity KLIP, I might make sure they are ready) climb on top of the house and if the satellites and drones are not looking at me I might go so far as to offer a prayer (making sure no one is looking don’t want to really get into trouble).
    That is the funny scenario.
    For real,
I would first hit the deck on my knees with my wife, ask for guidance, turn on the short waive (if it works, guess I will go check now). I have been preparing since the oil embargo of the 1970’s and the following inflation. That and the Y2K I acted but not reacted to set us up with a contingency plan of sorts.
I would fear it as my worst nightmare really, maybe as Pearl Harbor might have been for Dad and Mom. The same as when I was in Math class with JFK being killed, 09/11/2001 maybe. This really has been in my mind for a long time. Maybe as the same as the late night when the chest pounds and wakes me up, hoping it is not the big one and I am going to Glory.

  7. I would wait to find out exactly what's happening before doing anything. In your scenario, you have no idea what's going on. It could be something simple and fixed right away. It could be something that, no matter what you do, it isn't going to help. Worse, your reaction will only exasperate your situation. So, why bother until you know what it is? The only thing I know I would do is not listen to anyone with a theory as to what's going on.

How long are you prepared to wait?
How are you going to find out.
Your Car Radio? Do you have a battery powered radio? Do you have batteries? If you are rural you may be okay. You are in the burbs, all your neighbors are out actually talking to each other wondering what happened. Spreading rumors etc. Urban area's no lights no power no alarms no police etc.

  9. I'm prepared to wait as long as the situation dictates. How will I find out? I don't know, because the situation would dictate that as well. All I'm saying is that, without having a clue as to what's happening, doing anything beyond what I'd normally do is ridiculous.

Here's a couple scenarios to sum up what I'm saying: 1) Turns out a disgruntled government internet worker decided to hack a couple major systems. After it's discovered, he's fired and the system gets put back to normal. The President makes a broadcast apologizing for inconvenience. The whole situation took around 15 minutes. 2) An asteroid the size of the US is going hit Earth and completely wipe out humanity in 1 hour.

In those cases, doing anything beyond your "normal" routine would be a waste of time or useless.

While you are waiting, I am building a fire in my smoker and preparing to smoke or cook all the meat that will be spoiling in my freezer.
Gathering water- running it through a purifier.
Will use up the frozen vegatibles first. then the garden still holding the bags of beans and rice in reserve.
All while carrying and having long guns at the ready.
Keep trying cell phones - no use. Nothing to do prepare to tuff it out and hope my family remembers the instructions I gave them.
With no gas no atms etc make your way here ASAP. (but I live in a rural area)
Sure is nice and quiet. Did make contact with closest neighbor. He and his are okay and if we need any drastic help from each other, fire 3 shots.
