I think I'm going to sit on my hands for a while and see if they approach me again. I think at this point they need to verbally sweeten the pot or engage in a discussion or an overview of their plan.
I enjoy watching the "prepper" programs on TV. Some people have what seem to be well thought out plans while others are completely deluding themselves. One of the programs I watched had a self-appointed leader who was dictating what all his group members would be doing. He went a little too far when he had a gallows erected that would be used, at his discretion it seems, to punish those who run afoul of him and to keep others in line. That is not the kind of group I would want to fall in with and would stay clear of. Don't want to be with some home grown dictator who thinks he has the authority for administering capital punishment. That would be the kind of person I think I would be shooting at rather than following. If something catastrophic like this were to happen, you would soon see the true nature of friends and family alike. I think most people will be very surprised and disappointed. Hopefully, Gabriel will be playing Reville before it comes to this and we will be gone from here!

Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect (ISRAEL) those days will be cut short." (Matthew 24:22)

Being that 2/3 of the worlds population will be killed, even the Amish will be long dead & gone.

Yes even the Amish, but it will hit them and they will not be as stressed out as the folks on the cell phones, iPods, and cable news channels.

Ringo, To Worry is to sin, I'm not worried just planning.
I have accepted Christ as my savior and by the Grace of God I am blessed with the life I have.
Ringo, Do you have a Will? If so, Why? Planning.

Personally, I think you and I will be long cold in the ground or our ashes blown to the corners of the Earth before the Lord returns.
If you are so sure Christ is coming soon, then there is no harm in leaving all your worldly possessions to me in your Last Will and Testament, Right?
    Will you do it?

Nope, no worry & no will. It's good that you have accepted Yahshuah as HaMashiach. My question to you is what Scripture have you read that makes you "believe" that Yahshuah is HaMashiach?

Their reasoning appears to be my weapons and ammunition cash as well as my ability to use them.

In a disaster situation I have never thought about taking on others none the less joining up with others. My thought processes have always been the survival of my household and immediate family.
I currently have a plan and a direction to go. I only have to travel 18 miles to a secure location.

Do I join forces, or remain on my current singular path?
Do they offer anything of value? Weapons ability? Security? Medical training? Food stowage/preservation knowledge? Hunters/trackers? Small radio skills? Knowledge of local terrain? Mechanical skills? Current wealth for future survival investments? Anything? Or, are they just dead weight looking for a "protector" with provisions? If they don't offer anything of value, then don't become a "team". Remain friendly and perhaps encourage them to learn a skill... then, maybe.

There is a balance to be struck when developing a SHTF/WROL unit. Not enough and your security diminishes, your manpower isn't large enough to cultivate small crops and you may not have the particular know-how required in a grid-down scenario. Too may, then of course there may be too many mouths to feed if the growing/hunting season isn't right, food storage diminishes quicker, medicine usage is accelerated, etc etc.

You must weigh your options, desires in SHTF/WROL, necessary goals and timelines of survival. I currently don't have a "team" per se, I have family in various locations that have the provisions and skills to make a hell of a go at SHTF/WROL life. One location may offer things the other doesn't, more or less people, weapons, food storage and so on... the benefit is I have options, I have redundancy. I encourage closer friends to do the same and have attempted to set up potential allies in my local area that, if all went bad, we could help ourselves out of danger. However, I do not intend on waiting for anyone should I need to leave the area... if they're not here, they're on their own.

Tough decisions will have to be made in such a world... that includes leaving behind what may have been your neighbors or social friends, to their own wits. If this all goes story-book on us, the pain and suffering would place most people into a near permanent state of shock. Most of society can't function when confronted with extreme violence and the choices that must be made during those times. Your heart and resolve must be as hard as your armored plating.

  10. I'm hooking-up with whatever military types have splintered from their units, if they will have me, assuming the assault is on U.S. citizens.

Given other scenarios, I'll probably eat the thousands of squirrels around me, so they will quit munching on my cedar boards and picnic table.

Realistically, I'll stay here with my wife. We're old, banged-up, and physically not able to become nomads.

We're not going down without a fight. And a firefight it will be. If nothing else matters, I'm going down with the ship. I owe my family that much.

I do have the advantage of many ham radios and backup power, if an EMP hasn't rendered them useless. Time to consider protecting them from such an event.

That will be my worldwide lifeline, and the most important asset, provided the radio spectrum still has a tolerable noise floor, after some nuclear events.

I'm a Protestant, my wife is Catholic, and we both pray regularly now. I don't know why I said that? Maybe I'm not afraid to look for divine intervention when the need arises?
I'm a firm believer in two term limits for all politicians; one in office, the other in prison.
