    Conservative Litmus Test

    Conservative Litmus Test:

    (1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama's "stimulus" bill;

    (2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run health care;

    (3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;

    (4) We support workers' right to secret ballot by opposing card check;

    (5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;

    (6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;

    (7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;

    (8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;

    (9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and

    (10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing (ANY) government restrictions on gun ownership.

    Any Incumbent whom does not have a 100% perfect record of the aforementioned; YOUR FIRED...

    Any new comer whom does not pledge to support the aforementioned 100%; you will be OPPOSED.

    Those are some good ones to start with. There are a few others I would add.
    By faith Noah,being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear,prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world,and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7

    This works for me. It's too bad no political parties believe in following his advice:
    George Washington's Farewell Address
    People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.--River Tam

    Bohemian,

    I'd like to agree with you with exception of 2, 6, and 7.

    2 - Market-based health care reform does not support Tort reform. Moreover in a market-based system, there is a supply and demand, when it comes to people's desire to live, the demand is unlimited, undefinable, therefore market based reform will not work.

    6 - Until I saw the special on CNN wrt our troops having to release POWs who'll reintegrate as combatants again.....Screw that change the policy or get the hell out. Our military is to defend Our country not be the another nation's police force. From http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/11/17/arm...ngs/index.html

    According to the U.S. military, 76,985 detainees have been released out of the 87,011 captured during the Iraq war. "We've repeatedly found ourselves fighting the same enemy again and again," Hatley wrote.

    7 - Don't know what "containment" means but I don't feel we should tell any nation what to do. Let them do it, blow themselves up, let Israel and/or Japan do it. Japanese need to stop freeloading their protection anyway. It'd be hypocritical otherwise! If the US stopped or prevented another nation's progress but doesn't concede to UN and/or International laws, its a doublestandard, elitist.

    Since this is a GOP initiative, you can count on any proposed alternative to ObamaCare including tort reform...

    That being said I am for anything the prevents ObamaCare from going through in any way shape or form, because NOWHERE in the Constitution does it give the Federal Government Authority to impose ObamaCare or any other part of his Socialist Agenda upon us...

    Tenth Amendment:

    "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

    A long time ago a I was told something that I have found holds very true...
    Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see...
    In the case of CNN I do not believe ANYTHING I see or hear from the Corrupt News Network, AKA: Clinton News Network...

    Japan does not have the ability to blow anybody up, the only ones who could contain N. Korea is Us, the Chinese or the Russians... but not before they make S. Korea, Japan, or possibly Hawaii glow in the dark for say the next 250,000 years...

    IF & WHEN under Obama & Companies Socialist & Pacifist Regime; N.Korea & Iran get their working Nukes, some fricking highest bidder Devout Muslim is going to buy one or more and use them on Us & or Israel...

    My best bet would be via our non-existent southern border... or from Cuba, or Canada these scenarios have viable, realistic first strike capabilities...

    I spent 27 years in the USMC and more than my fair share in the sandbox and elsewhere before and after 911, so I am going to agree to disagree on the worlds police force bit; because I have seen first hand that it is in our best interest to put an end to the indoctrination of the next generation of terrorists...

    We simply can not seal our selves up from the rest of the world and put our heads in the sand and think that the would be terrorists will simply leave us alone...

    Not while there remains Devout Muslims that fundamentally believe that there is nothing better they can do with their lives than kill an American or Jew or other non-Muslim anywhere on earth by any means necessary and make no distinction between men, women, children, old, infirm...
