Thread: What is your prediction for the future of our freedom?

Since I am usually very optimistic, it troubles me how pessimistic I feel. The looming danger of the passage of socialized medicine in the USA really scares me. If I think on it too long, it actually starts making my stomach ache...but my heart aches constantly for my country and what is being forced upon us.

Right now, I'm convinced, in light of the anger among the voters, that Obama will NOT let elections happen in November. You may scoff and say, "That's silly. That could never happen", and believe me, with my whole being I hope you are right. But, give this possible scenario some thought. The majority of Congress are ignoring the will of the people. They treat us like peasants and wave us aside, completely unconcerned about how we feel or what we say. Do they really act to you like they're worried about retaining their jobs in November? They have the attitude, right or not, that they are untouchable and no one can take their power away.

Since I don't believe that Obama and Pelosi are willing to take a risk in November, of losing that power, the only way for him to avoid a mass firing of the majority of Congress is to "postpone" the elections. Hitler did it in pre-WWII Germany. I'm extremely afraid that the United States is about to be renamed the United Socialist States of America with it's first dictator. After all, there are Communists in the White House!

I was wondering yesterday what America will look like in 100 years. I'm thinking either a lot more liberty or no liberty.

I'm doing what I can to make it the former, not the latter.

I really have high hopes for the Republican Party. But to not go extinct, they're going to have to stop worrying about what people do in bed and what they ingest.

If Republicans as a group would quit being such nanny squares and concentrate on what they do best, fiscal conservatism, protecting our borders and protecting our rights, they'd flourish. As it stands now, most hip young people will vote left by default. And each year there are more and more hip young people reaching voting age.

If so, then they get the government, and, if any, future they deserve. Choices and consequences, that's what life is all about. And once again I say that the Republican Party is already extinct. The Democrats have become Socialists, and the Republicans have become Democrats.

So your answer is "we're screwed"?

Might as well turn in your guns and Bible to the police now. Do it voluntarily while it's still easy.

In Wyoming, the Republicans are libertarians and the Democrats are good Republicans. Our fiscally conservative Democrat Governor just signed a bill to make it legal to arrest federal officers if they violate our state gun laws. He also signed Castle Doctrine last year, and a bill to make it illegal for law enforcement to confiscate guns in an emergency (to prevent what happened in New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina).

It might be interesting if you'd look up how many of your "Good Republican Democrats" voted to make Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House. Or, how many voted to confirm Justice Sotomayor, Holder, H. Clinton, (insert favorite admin officiial) ...

Do you see where I'm going?
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.--River Tam

Your governor hasn't read the U.S. Constitution or Bill of Rights? It's already illegal, always has been. It didn't prevent what happened in New Orleans in Hurricane Katrina because the people didn't have the same guts to defend their rights as the police had to violate those rights. Same with everything, and nothing will stop the tyranny until the gutless start fighting back. Fight fire with fire still holds true.

Really we are at a crossroads culturally & as a nation politically. The "hip" young people that have been referred to really don't know their history probably, because it is being systematically removed from the history books. They are part of a generation that has grown up with an entitlement attitude. Even many in my generation are of the same mentality. Ringo is right in that there are choices and consequences for those choices. The reason our country has lasted as long as it has is because there was a strong spiritual foundation built into this great government. If all it takes for these hip young people to vote for a platform that is not fiscally conservative is because they feel it gives them freedom from moral constraints then really they aren't Conservatives after all. I am neither Republican or Democrat...rather Libertarian with a conservative bend. From what I am observing there are many Democrats that don't agree with nor recognize their own party and are just as frustrated with what they see taking place. Morality has a great and important place in this culture...any culture that has thrown off moral constraints has not lasted. Granted it isn't my business what goes on in the privacy of someone's bedroom any more that it is their business what goes on in mine. However, we do need people in political office that will have the courage to stand up and stop the tide of pushing what others feel is okay into my home through the text books that come into my grand kids text books, along with teachers that press those values and political parties that try to mold the mind of my grand kids, with values that I do not believe in. Frankly, I do not feel that most "hip" young people are leaving the party, rather I see on the news many young people that are standing up in Tea Parties, NRA boards and, PTA meetings etc that are saying enough is enough. I have not voted party line for many years now, but what I see coming down the pipe from the huber left makes me want to vomit...so if these hip young people want to side with them...good...run...don't walk... as fast as you can to Michael Moore, George Soros and all the rest. There is a plan in the works for a global government, I do believe that, but I also believe that God has His own global plan, so I am not too concerned in that regard. Do I wish to force that on anyone? No. But I sure won't be disappointed if you or someone else embraces Him along with me. Nuff Said.
Don't take freedom for granted...you could lose it.

It can go two ways. If God forgives us and answers our prayers then our future is good. If however we have reached the point in time when God removes his protection from us because of our sins then we haven't a snowballs chance in hell. Are we there yet? I pray we are not.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7
