Lets not forget that our country was given a NATIONAL I.Q. TEST in the 2008 election. Guess what..WE FAILED!

To tell the truth, There was really no way to PASS the 2008 test. It was either fail big, or fail bigger.

I'm hoping that 2012 will be different.

If people would vote for more than Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum, we might be able to avoid such situations.

Your correct, but, who put together the BIG TEST that there was no way to pass? The American people. It was called the primaries. Who did the American people allow to become their candidates? Obama & McCain. The American people are NOT SMART. If the American people were smart, America would not be in the situation it's in today, and that is undeniably indisputable. Things will be different in 2012, things will be a lot worse.

  6. This is exactly why we are not supposed to be a Democracy, but a Constitutional Republic. "A democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb deciding what's for dinner". I always thought this was a cute saying until I really thought about it and thought about what is going on in Washington.
The sole purpose of the Constitution is to limit the power of the Federal Government, so that the "dear people" couldn't screw their decendents over too badly.
The voter base in this country was never meant to be unrestricted, the Founders wanted people with some measure of success and strong ties to their communities to make the decisions. They did not want the idiots on the street, who had never done anything worthwhile, to make them.

I'm sick of all the dancing around...I trust no politician...of any stripe.
A couple of things. I agree 100%, except this November. If we split the vote in November, we are totaly screwed. There will be no going back from a loss then. The Press and the Obama administration will call it a mandate and we will be drowned. The only way back then will be violent, and we do not want that.
In The November election only, work your butts off to get the candidates you want through the primaries. Volunteer on their campaigns, email, make phone calls, give money, work for them. Get out. Right now, get in volved in your local comittees, the ones who choose who the "official" candidate will be. Take back the executive comittees. WORK, WORK, WORK, today and every day to take back the system.
Having said that, we must, in NOVEMBER ONLY, vote for the lesser of 2 evils (if we cannot get the best candidates through the primaries). After November, contiue to fight for the people you want.

If you just sit on this board and *****, say you are going to split the vote (and lose the election because of it), but do nothing to get the people you want into office, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

Interesting. Note the 86% of the Tea Partiers who don't want to start a 3rd party.

CHICAGO, — A new study released today reveals that Tea Party activists are motivated by feelings of responsibility to future generations and belief in America’s founding principles, but still struggle with questions of leadership and identity. The study conducted by Sam Adams Alliance, The Early Adopters: Reading the Tea Leaves, also reveals that Tea Party activists are a diverse group trying – often for the first time – to change the political landscape by holding elected officials more accountable. The results of the full report can be found at Activist Insights | Sam Adams Alliance.

The Sam Adams report offers the first-ever insights into the Tea Party movement that include a survey sample made up entirely of recognized Tea Party activists.

“A lot of surveys have focused on the Tea Party movement, but they’ve been about what others think of them, and don’t reveal the motives of actual Tea Partiers,” said Sam Adams Alliance chairman Eric O’Keefe. “We decided to learn what the Tea Party leaders are up to the old fashioned way: We asked them.”

The findings confirm that a large number of Tea Party activists are politically involved for the first time. 47 percent of activists surveyed said that they were “uninvolved” or “rarely involved” in politics before their participation in Tea Party groups.

Three political issues stood out as being the most important to Tea Party activists. When asked which issues were “very important” to them, 92 percent said “budget,” 85 percent said

“economy,” and 80 percent said “defense.” No respondents listed social issues as an “important direction” for the movement.

Other findings of the study include:

86 percent oppose the formation of a third-party.
36 percent support a 2012 Sarah Palin Presidential candidacy.
81 percent have a website for their organization.
90 percent cited “to stand up for my beliefs” when characterizing their initial reason for involvement.
62 percent identified as Republicans, 28 percent as Independents, 10 percent as “Tea Party”

If you want to "Split The Ticket" you'll have to split it between the Socialists and the Democrats. Why? Because the DEMOCRATS have become SOCIALISTS and the REPUBLICANS have become DEMOCRATS. A THIRD PARTY IS A MUST, my only hope is that any third party will "stand up for my beliefs", when characterizing their beliefs, of "Americas founding principles". Any party that does not list SOCIAL ISSUES as an "important direction" for their movement will not get my vote, not even the "Tea Party".

I realize that the Tea Party has the economy, taxes, etc. as the direction of their movement. If however, I was to support a third party and vote for the third party candidate, social issues must be in the top list of their priorities. Social issues to me are family values, morals, character, integrity, faith in God, etc. It goes much deeper, however I can't say more to explain it here without starting a forum war and being labeled many things. What has always been called EVIL in this world in the past, today is called GOOD, what has always been called GOOD in the past, today is called EVIL. The Republican Party was the closest thing to stand up for my beliefs and the principles that our country was founded on. Was, but not even close today.

I doubt that I'll support any political party in the future, mainly because no political party would get to first base in the world we live in today should they support my values and principles. I have many more years behind me than in front of me, I know well what it is to live a prosperous life and enjoy freedom. I come from a different generation, a generation that knew right from wrong, good from evil, and we had a government that governed, not dictate. What this generation considers progression, my generation considered regression. I don't want to go on a rant. I hope this gives some idea.
