I'm not really worried about any possible infringement on 2A or gun rights in general.

Even if the president of the Brady Campaign managed to become president, it still wouldn't happen. The American people generally recognize the individual right to own firearms. Any attempt to eliminate that would likely cause a mass uprising.

After all, the second amendment is there as a last resort to defend the other rights we have. Take that away, and the "last resort" becomes a reality.

Gotta say you don't give up. As I said before, I'm glad you believe it can't happen here.

+1. I agree. See my post on the thread about the push for a workers I.D. card. The very reason all these things may come to pass in our Republic is because so may people are delusional in thinking that "it can't happen here". Famous last words.

The main focus is to push for EuroSissyism --oops, I meant EuroSocialism-- in the United States. Any movement in that direction is accepted as moving toward the goal. Along the way, giving up immediate control over any one issue (gun control, immigration, government health, etc) is acceptable as long as the general movement is to government control. National Health care becomes the linchpin of that control. Take a look at European elections; the main topic is always social welfare (health care is the main component) and everything else has become incidental to that. Politicians are elected and budgets written with that as the centerpiece of discussion.

There are those who believe that had McCain been elected we'd have a national health care bill signed into law by now. They may be right...
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.--River Tam
