I know it's not the popular view - but last I head America is supposed to be a melting pot of religions and races. The founding fathers were Christian - they came from Europe and for the most part England and most of Europe were / are Christian nations, so it makes sense they would be Christian. BUT believing EVERYone should believe the same as you and then deciding to force them to at the point of a sword or gun becomes as tyrannical as the kind of government our forefathers feared and did their best to guard against. I know you Christians will say you're peace loving and all that, but you ALL know that Christianity was spread that way throughout Europe during the Crusades and Holy Roman Empire as well as throughout the Americas with the Pilgrims.

What amazes me about all this, is that Muslims, Christians, and Jews ALL draw their faiths from different parts of the Bible. And yet all three religions believe the other two are wrong and even Evil and will therefore burn in hell (maybe not the Jews - I have a Jewish friend who tells me she could care less if others believe what she believes and she doesn't really know who gets to go to heaven and who doesn't) and the three are pretty much hell bent on wiping out the other two (again maybe not the Jews so much - they seem to be on defense lately)

Loved one "Supernatural" episode in which the Hindu gods were trying to stop Armageddon from happening, but the Jewish / Christian / Muslim God(s) were too strong and they couldn't.

The world sure has a lot of different variations on God and yet almost all the religions believe there is only One True God. Maybe he just shows up in different forms - Noooo, that would be tooooo easy.

Nor do I, it is a sign of weakness and the inability to deal with people with other views.

That's pretty sad, being mocked for not retreating to the gated community of "I don't want to hear other opinions" Not surprising really........... yet continuing to express their opinion. The action of cowards.

    Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time America Was a Christian Nation

The Bible was written as a guide to give us examples that righteous living brings prosperity. It's a gift from God when the people fear His name and reverence His teachings, by submitting to His righteous rule and embracing His ways by incorporating them into their individual lives. So it was when this nation was founded upon principles laid as a bedrock in our Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. We've had our "bumps in the road", but God has blessed this nation like no other in all of history. We elected our representatives to give a voice for the people who feared God and expected those we chose to guide this nation in the ways of our founding documents forged by men of honor, our founding fathers of this nation as intended. The nation was founded by the people and for the people. Our guiding rule was our belief and foundation in the invisible ruler of this nation, the only True God. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Christian God. Our faith and trust by historical events pointed to our need, our desire, and our understanding of this principle, "One nation, UNDER GOD" !! For 200 years, this is the way it was, but times have changed and not for the better.

Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, this country has decided that we no longer wish to have God rule over us. We've abandoned the founding principles that made this nation great. We've looked to ourselves. Humanist principles have overtaken our once Godly principles based on the Bible that the majority of Americans believed in. Fleshly desires of sinful living have dominated our culture starting with dissolving prayer in our schools. Our education system has indoctrinated a whole generation of young minds that are now the adults who govern this nation. It's said about education from a quote sometimes attributed to Abraham Lincoln: "The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next." From this period of secular education, the teacher's of our children have infected their minds with sex education, evolution, values clarification, moral relativism, Darwinian evolution, Socialism and Marxism, earth worship, multiculturalism, one-world globalism, Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, and appeasement foreign policy. That's the generation that is of voting age that elected Obama to be president of the USA. This deplorable spiritual condition of our nation is manifested in the electorate voting for a man with credentials that would not qualify him for dog catcher, let alone POTUS.

It's stunning to think that more than 6 million self-described evangelical "Christians" would vote for a President who supports abortion on demand, supported the same-sex marriage ballot initiatives that succeeded in Maryland, Maine and Washington, and was on the cover of Newsweek as America's "first gay president." Did these self-professed believers surrender their Biblical convictions in the voting booth or did they never really have deep Biblical convictions to begin with? This is what happens when the Church is weak and fails to disciple believers to turn Biblical faith into action. Given the enormous number of evangelical Christians in the U.S., this bloc could still affect enormous positive change for their issues if they were to unify and vote for a pro-life, pro-marriage candidate. What will it take to educate, register and mobilize Christians to vote on the basis of biblical principles, and what kind of candidates could best mobilize them? This is a critical question that Christian political leaders as well as pastors must seriously consider. As we've seen, just a few million more evangelicals voting for pro-life, pro-marriage candidates could offset other demographics that are becoming more liberal. This behooves us to ask us the question "What's become of the citizens of this nation?"

What's developed is a whole generation devoid of Biblical instruction or understanding. They know nothing of the founding Christian principles that formed this nation, or the blessing of free market capitalism. They forget what the Bible says when it comes to standing with His Chosen People in the last days. Let's look at that. Why have we been blessed in the last 50 years other than standing on founding principles that formed this nation? Because we stood with Israel from its inception. We nurtured and helped defend their national right to exist. But if you speak to a lot of Evangelicals they only talk of the Palestinian plight of Israeli aggression. No more do we stand with Israel as a majority in our government or our citizenry. They talk the talk but their deeds and actions prove otherwise. We talk of still being a "nation under God", but our actions and deeds prove us to be liars. (1st Samuel 8:18)..."And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day."

Riddle me this - At the point of which gun or sword are you being forced to accept Christianity? Maybe you were talking about the past. Do a little reading on the crusades beyond a 2nd grade textbook. In short, it was the violent spread of Islam that the crusades were battling. There were many violent religious conflicts in ancient history, but they were an excuse for the violent expansion and tyranny that would have happened whether or not they had religion as an excuse. The only religion - at present - that believes all other religions are wrong and the believers of them should die as infidels is Islam.

Do other religions try to convert people to believe what they believe? Of course they do, but it is about their faith that they can help those they fear are mislead by other religions or the lack thereof. Unfortunately the atheists cannot accept that someone believes in any God (but they're scared to tick off the muslims for some reason) and must seek to banish that religion. Show me one lawsuit where Christians are trying to sue atheists for not believing in God. Atheists are like typical progressive liberals, in that you are free to believe whatever you want, as long as it is what they believe. If you don't, they will rant, sue, vandalize etc. for not agreeing with them. This is their tolerance.
