America is still a Christian Nation

Countries that base their legal structure on the writings of Muhammad are considered Muslim nations, while Israel is considered a Hebrew nation.

It has nothing to do with how many Christians, Jews, Buddhists, or Muslims live in the country.

    Great Reply.

There are two books on my desk, The Holy Bible, and a copy of The Constitution of the United States.

After reading some of the posts from the non-believers, I doubt if they have gotten much beyond the comic book stage.

It wasn't that long ago, every student said the Lord's prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance every morning before school started.

That was before the same left wing idiots that are leading our Government now took over the schools and started poisoning the minds of the children.

Their agenda was demoralizing the United States and getting us to where we are now.

God and Guts built this County, and the Wimpy, Left, Liberals are going to destroy it.

The more they remove God the weaker the Country gets.

These are the same idiots that stand up to applaud the Mexican President as he and our great president scold us for doing what the Federal Government should be doing.

But neither God nor this Country is dead yet.

Then how did these so-called idiots get elected and manage to do all this left wing damage if America is still so staunchly Christian?

The answer is obvious, but I'll let y'all tap dance around it some more if you like...

Prior to that time, you would be hard pressed to prove that America was NOT a Christian nation. Very hard indeed.
If this was a Christian Nation, why, in 1864, did an act of Congress compel the railroad company to run their street cars in Washington D.C. on the Sabbath in direct contravention of divine law and inconsistent with the notion of a Christian nation?

Because we are not under the Sabbath laws as a Christian, you are confusing that with Judaism. You are grasping at straws my friend, but I do appreciate the historical aspect of your resources which I find interesting nevertheless.

Representative Price believed that we were under the Sabbath laws in 1864 when he submitted the following preamble and resolution, viz:

Whereas it is and ever has been admitted since the formation of our government that the prosperity of this nation depended upon and was attributable to our recognition and observance or the laws of God, and the consequent protection of an all-wise Providence; and whereas the recent act of Congress compelling the railroad company to run their street cars in this city on the Sabbath is a direct contravention of the divine law, and inconsistent with our professions as a Christian nation: Therefore,

Resolved, That the Judiciary Committee be instructed to report a bill repealing the law compelling the running of cars in the streets of this city on the Sabbath day.

Yep, the answer is obvious. One little step at a time, just like boiling a frog.

Dear Charles, welcome to looking at issues of the Bible. Take a look at the answer to your dilemma by Paul the Apostle:

Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

6He that regardeth the day, regardeth [it] unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard [it]. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

I find this portion of your little Bible riddle most telling, because it speaks to the very nature of the self-delusional notion of believing this is a Christian nation. The only issue for those remaining in denial about their faith's control over this nation is how difficult it will be to swallow when the reality you may refer to as either heaver or hell depending on your point of view at that time sets in.

But you'll be in heaven then, right? So nevermind, no worries.

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7
