Msimmons, I beg to differ with you, most of the Founders were not Free Masons.

    How many were?

Of those signing the Declaration of Independence a maximum of 6 could have been Free Masons.

Of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention that formed the U. S. Constitution a maximum of 4 could have been Free Masons.

The Constitutional Convention was adjourned so all could go to their place of worship and pray to God for guidance, after that the Constitution was ratified and signed by all.

Historian Anson Phelps Stokes' three volume account of Church and State in the United States argued that the Treaty of Tripoli is the "only statement of any importance which we have found in the official documents of the United States which seems to deny specifically that the government was founded on the Christian religion."

He also noted that "those who wished to deny that the United States as a government has any special regard for the Christian religion...[have ] almost invariably failed to call attention to the fact that the treaty was superseded, less than a decade later, by another 'Treaty of Peace and Amity,' signed in Tripoli June 4, 1805, in which the clause in question...is omitted."

    Mohamadshukr,

Welcome to America where we have a Constitution and the 1st. Amendment that offers and did protect your Freedom of Religion.

Prior to this President, but now along with the help of the ACLU, and other Communist Groups they are doing their very best to destroy that right. They are promoting the Fairy tail that the 1st Amendment assures Freedom From Religion.

Read it yourself my friend and tell me what it protects?

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances".

I ain't Christian. Why should I believe someone else's version of "God?" Have done my own research and sorry, in the process I just couldn't come up with a belief in immaculate conception, virgin birth, or ressurection....or gold tablets....

What I love about this country is that I still have a right to believe as I have come to believe and don't have to follow anyone elses rules.

America is a FREE country with Christians and other believers throughout it and we don't bother each other about our beliefs.

Jesus is Lord. Nothing more to say. Except that if they weren't Christian back in the day, they wouldn't have put "in God we trust" on the dollar bill.

Sure they would. The vast majority of our planet past and present believe in "a god" and worship "a god", but don't identify with Christ. This country’s founders wrote many Judeo-Christian principles into its law: the equality of men, justice, freedom of worship, freedom of speech and others. Americans have supported more missionary and evangelistic efforts than any other people in history. There are churches in virtually every community. We have “In God We Trust” on our money. But America is not and never has been a Christian nation. Political processes run the government, not righteousness. Pleasure motivates the people, not righteousness. Legal precedent and clever lawyers determine justice, not righteousness. The heart of the people determines the heart of the nation and Americans focus on self, not God. America is a secular nation, based on some Christian principles and containing some Christian citizens. There will be Christians in America as long as there are Christians in the world, but America is not a Christian nation. One clear principle in scripture is the spiritual Law of Accountability: to whom much is given, much is demanded (Lk 12:48). God has blessed America generously throughout our history but we have squandered His blessing on self-indulgence. As a nation, we have turned our back on him, made policies and laws that are clearly anti-God, and embraced political correctness to avoid offending those having other beliefs, even to the point of renaming national holidays having Christian origins. Unfortunately, the attitudes and lifestyles of many Christians in America are indistinguishable from those of non-Christians.

According to a recent poll taken in America approximately 80% of Americans profess they are Christian. If that be the case, then we need to ask ourselves two very serious questions: First why, if 80% of America is Christian is there a Muslim determining America’s fate? Second, as a nation that claims its foundation stone was the rock Jesus Christ, why have we done a 180 degree turn away from Him and His teachings? America would not be in the toilet today spiritually and morally if we were anything even close to a Christian nation. A moral and spiritual degeneracy has permeated our land. Down we go, down to new depths of depravity. Most people in America haven’t a clue of what’s just around the next bend in the river concerning this nation, America is currently wallowing in total depravity, but too many Americans see only what they want to see. Since America has given God the boot, American’s no longer give God the glory as the provider of their needs. Being thankful for what they’ve received from God has become a foreign concept. Americans have kicked God out of every aspect of life, even many churches no longer allow Him in. Is there still a question in anyone’s mind as to why America is riding the toilet rim?

    Ringo,

I do believe 80% of Americans were Christian, but the Communist take over by the minority has infiltrated our schools, our Churches, and public offices.

It has been a slow but constant endeavor, and many Christians are like sheep and go with the flow. They are more concerned about helping others than what is going on in our Government. They haven't gotten involved in politics (because they will lose their Tax exemp status).

Prior to the Revolution Churches were the leaders and protectors of the Communities, Socialism has skillfully changed that.

The Socialist Government has done everything possible to appease the Churches for years, in order to keep them from understanding and getting involved in order to orchestrate their demise.

The Socialist Government has now reached the breaking point of Our Constitution and no longer needs to appease but to Control.

    Without Christianity Americanism is Dead.

It's pathetic when these pleasure-seeking, self-indulgent, self-focused, unrighteous bound-for-hell Christians (you know who you are) won't take responsibility for America being in the toilet.

As an example, this forum is filled with "Christians" and read by untold thousands of lurker "Christians", but notice how few of us True-Christians there are to post, who are in total agreement with what you said.

    Johnny G, I've noticed.
knowing that all lies begin with "self-deception" leaves little to the imagination as to why the end of life as we know it in America and the world will become a reality long before 2016. It's not just the secular of our society that are self-deceived, the spirit of antichrist is alive and well within the Apostate Churches of America as well. This is proven by the fact that 6.4 million of those Americans who voted for the present administration on election day self-identify themselves as born-again, evangelical Christians. Fools by choice, these self-deceived professing "Christians" voted for a presidential candidate and national party that -- among many horrific things -- advocates the murder of unborn babies, supports homosexual marriage, is sympathetic to and has proven ties with the terrorist arms of Islam, and in the last four years has exemplified a hatred of God's people, Israel.

Ringo, you seem he'll bent for leather on promoting the idea that the world is coming to an end. And very soon. Do you know something that we don't? The world is evil. Yes, always has been. We're in debt over our GDP and will never pay it back. Has been since I've been alive. We have crooked politicians infringing upon our rights. Always have been. Homosexuals? always have been. What is so different about these times that makes us any more at risk of being close to the end of days? One generation after the creation of Israel? Israel has always been there. They just named it Israel once they were bombed into existence. So again, do you know something we don't?
