So much for criticizing the position, not the person. Troll, sleaze poster, fool, bad father, and a veiled death threat all from someone who claims to be a former sworn full time peace officer. Now he claims to ignore me. Ones age does not determine their maturity.
Now can we please get back to the topic?

Iceman, Mr. McCain lost the election because he IS as far Left and Liberal as you and 0bama, and he didn't fool enough people into voting for him.McCain's claims to fame are having a plane shot out from under him and voting away our rights and privileges as US citizens. Choosing Palin as his running mate was the most Conservative act in his life.

As for Ms. Palin's responses on ABC, in preparation, she was given different instructions and answers by the McCain staff at different times leading up to the event, many of them contradictory. She went into that interview not knowing where her running mate stood on the issues and not wanting to give any answers that would contradict McCain's lack of position.

Ejecting out of an aircraft, and being a POW for years makes McCain a hero. You are correct. Without that, he would never got elected.
I wasn't that happy with McCain. However, he was the one anointed by the GOP. When McCain picked out Caribou Barbie as his running mate, at first, I was all for it. Then, she opened her mouth. IMO, she don't have the right stuff. Now she is making millions being an entertainer. Soon, her star will dim, and she can go back to being a mom, and grandma. Now, if calling me far left and liberal as Barry Obama, by all means knock yourself out.
FYI, i voted for Mccain, only because Obama was going to win anyway. I voted against Senator Al Franken, and for Dubya twice. Hell, I even voted for Richard Nixon.

Exactly and for some putting trash with pictures of porn stars on this site is their idea of an intelligent debate. Oh well, as the saying goes, "If you can not impress them with you brilliance dazzle them with you BS".

I think the idea of Palin at the convention was to "Rally the troops" and get 2nd Amendment rights back in the front of people's minds. For the average gun owner, it has likely taken a back seat to the health care debate and several other issues that are getting much more press. It is likely still at the front of the minds of people at the convention, but the quotes from it will work their way out to those who don't think about it every day.

Face it - Palin is popular, she's entertaining, and she doesn't appear to compromise her beliefs. People like people like that. She probably stirred up several times her speaker's fee in donations. She ain't bad looking either, which can't hurt.

I still say her biggest asset is the fact that the Dems are absolutely scared to death of her. With some coaching to tame down her tendancy to "shoot from the hip" she could seriously tilt the tables in the conservatives' favor. That Alaska accent kind of grates on me after a while but I could deal with it.

McCain lost the election for two reasons:

    1) George Bush being, well, inept.
    2) Sarah Palin being the same way.

McCain got swept up in the anti-George Bush tide, and his running mate didn't help much when she couldn't figure out what her potential job was. Quite a few typically red states voted blue the past election, and that speaks volumes about what the country generally wants. Electing robo-arm McCain and "you betcha Barbie" Palin wasn't it.

As for Palin warning of Obama's supposed gun ban, it's all show - just like it has been since she was thrust into the public eye.

Obama wouldn't dream of trying out a gun ban. He knows that there are MANY people who own guns, and who would defend that right. Also, there are MANY gun-owning liberals who voted for him and probably will again. I am one of those people, unless the Republicans can put up someone worthwhile. The supposed gun ban issue brought up by Palin is nothing more than political speech intended to scare the hell out of gun owners so that they will believe it and then go to the polls and vote Republican.

It's a typical political speech - both sides do it.

I'll believe a gun ban when I see real legislation go through that has a fighting chance. When that happens, I'll be up in arms (literally). Until then, I refuse to be sucked into voting single non-issue. There are far too many real and pertinent issues facing the country than one of a non-existent gun ban.
