    Remember Obama's illigal alien aunt?

Well, she just got a free pass! I wonder why!

A Boston immigration judge has granted asylum to President Barack Obama's aunt, Zeituni Onyango, clearing the way for her to stay in the United States and possibly to become a US citizen, her lawyers said today.

Immigration Judge Leonard I. Shapiro, after hearing closed-door testimony from the Kenyan native in February, granted her plea on Friday. Reached by telephone, Onyango referred questions to her lawyers.

"I'm tired," said Onyango, whose case caused a stir when it was revealed she had been living illegally in a South Boston public housing complex.

In Cleveland, Onyango's lawyers Margaret Wong and Scott Bratton said that now Onyango will be allowed to receive a work permit, a Social Security number, and a driver's license or state identification card. She must wait for one year to apply for legal permanent residency, or a green card, and five years to apply for US citizenship.

Onyango, who turns 58 this month, is the half-sister of Obama's late father, and she was featured in Obama's memoir, "Dreams from My Father." She had applied for political asylum in 2002, but a judge rejected her application in 2004 and told her to leave the country.

Instead, she lived quietly in the public housing project until it was revealed shortly before the 2008 election that she was here illegally. She quickly became a lightning rod in the national debate over illegal immigration.

After the publicity, she fled to Cleveland, hired Wong, and petitioned immigration judge to allow her to stay in the United States.

Shapiro agreed to reopen Onyango's case in December 2008.

In February, Wong said Onyango would testify that she should stay in this country because she suffers health problems and because she feared that she would become the target of tribal violence if she were forced to return to her homeland. Onyango suffers from Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disorder.

During that hearing, Shapiro heard five hours of testimony by Onyango and two physicians.

I would be willing for her to stay if he would leave.

Does anyone REALLY believe that Obama didn't influence this outcome, the "Chicago Way"? If you do, I have some beautiful oceanfront property in Pennsylvania that's up for sale!

Zeituni Onyango was present at Barack's birth in Kenya. Thats why she should stay.

Come on people, if any of you were in high office, and your Aunt Zeituni had an immigration issue, you wouldn't step in to help?
Any of you remember Dead eye **** Chaney and Haliburton?
Bill and Hillary Clinton before, during, and after office?

Auntie is an ILLEGAL...and no matter who "pardons" her, it doesn't make it right. There are much more deserving folks who really should be granted citizenship and aren't.

Mom, I understand your anger about Aunt Zeituni. However in the big scheme of things, she is only a speck.

Are you old enough to remember this? I joined up during this time..
I can't say the same for George W. Bush. All the senators and public officials sons?

Yes, I'm 62 years old, iceman. My husband is a Veteran of that war. My heart breaks for the families of the "fallen heroes" of that war and for the men and women whose lives are forever changed by injuries (physical, emotional, psychological and/or spiritual) from being on that battlefield. Our country could have (and should have) won that war. Because we didn't, IMO, those lives were lost and/or irreparably damaged for nothing. Had one of those been my husband, my son or anyone else whom I hold dear, I would be forever embittered...so, yes, while I can't empathize with that pain, I surely do sympathize!

All the more reason for the citizens of our country to fight hard to preserve our Constitutional Republic and the nation that our Founders envisioned as a beacon for the world. All the more reason to hold ALL of our elected officials (regardless of party affiliation) accountable for the damage and pain that they impose on our economy, our safety, our liberties, our finances, our Constitution and our God-given rights.

So, yes...the actions of POTUS (whoever holds the office) matter. Character DOES matter...intentions DO matter...the individuals that he surrounds himself with DO matter. Auntie IS NOT "just a speck"...her being given a pass for being here illegally MATTERS.
