If everyone in AZ would jump up in the air and land at the same time, it might create a seismic wave that would dislodge Kalifornia and float it to China where it would corrupt that govt and we would solve 2 problems at the same time.

We might have a better chance of attaining this goal if the left-wing lug nuts in California weren't around.

Just don't forget that over 2/5 of the legal voting citizens oppose what has happened to their state. I know it's popular to tell them to give up and move but I understand their desire to reclaim their homes and their rights. I'd prefer to support them in that endeavor rather than belittle and abandon them.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.--River Tam

True enough, NDS, and I expected that rebuttal, as it is germane to the discussion. But they are WAY behind the curve in reclaiming their state...as in it ain't EVER gonna happen. At some point, you gotta read the handwriting on the wall or smell the coffee or whatever.

So, their elected leaders have bankrupted the state, driven people away, welcomed illegals with open arms and now thinks it's smart to denigrate a neighboring state for its policies? If it wasn't for the fact that it would encourage further encroachment on other southwestern states, I could readily vote to cut California loose (or at least the southern half). And the rest of the socialist enclave states in this country. But then, I'm a secessionist at heart, so that's where I'm coming from. Just me.

There's also the issue of the treaty-negotiated rate of flow of the Colorado river where it empties into the Gulf of California. We owe Baja California (the actual part of Mexico called California) a certain amount of water, which we are not, at present, providing. I'm sure Mexico would be delighted if the flow of Colorado River water from Arizona to California were cut off due to... boycotts. It would mean more water and fishing for Baja and Sonora.

I remember someone talking about how close we are to another civil war in this nation a few months ago. I thought that could never happen back then, but now I am not so sure anymore. I happen to live in CA and cannot move because of my current health care. I wish I could move up to Idaho full time where I just spent six months, yet the health care in Idaho would kill me quickly if I was not able to get the supplies I get from my CA providers. If you wish to live in a nation divided, think about it for a minute first. It won't be pretty since the FEDS have the final trump card. We live or die together. It will be all or none. Any thought of independent states outside of the control of the FEDS is complete foolishness. Did it ever occur to you that the divisions are promoted by the one that will clean up the entire mess under a constitutionless martial law? The states currently under socialist control must be allowed to fail so that the leadership will change. Yet, you should be willing to help pick up the pieces otherwise what you think you have in these other states shall disappear as well.

I understand your frustration and I do share it. But, many people in California oppose these moves by governments they can't reign in. I read a few California blogs and many of the individuals are organizing BUYcotts to protest the officials. There are lists of Arizona businesses that deal in the items these bloggers are interested in (like guns and cars) and the members are being encouraged to let local politicians know that they are supporting AZ and putting their money where their mouth is. Many of them have supported Arizona in its threats to dump California; cut off the water and power -- send the prisoners home. They know California is doomed and it's only a matter of time before the collapse and readjustment comes. They hope they can reclaim their state afterwards.

It may come to secession. I hope not, but I will move before I find myself on the wrong side of any partition in this nation's disollution.

  11. If the states start to fight among themselves economically or otherwise, we are all doomed. The FEDs will simply step in everywhere. What part of the partition would you be on then? In reality, there won't be anywhere to run or hide, the country that we love is the collective United States which derive their power from the people. We are looking at totalitarian governments that usurp this power and they will not relinquish it. My way out is knowing that all this must come to pass before Jesus shall return. It won't be pretty, but there really be no place to hide. That is why we need to support the oppressed minority in CA, NY, MA and other states so inclined. We either work together as a united people with common shared values, or we are ALL subjugated under a totalitarian dictatorship. No one will escape in that situation.
