Tell us what sort of system you would like to see here in the USA.

Unlike some of the 'Conservatives' and all of the leftists here there's a lot of what the government does I don't support. My belief in foreign policy was excellently summed up by our greatest President in his farewell address. I realize it won't fit in well with your dialectic, but if you choose to read it:

Bribery is hard work. In Louisiana it's a way of life.

What purpose would that serve? This discussion isn't about 'what is best' or 'what should we do or have' ... this discussion is about who has the power to force their will on others.

Currently, your side is winning the fight about how our freedoms are limited. If those argueing against you regain power we will not find an increase in freedom, we will only lose our freedoms in a politically different environment.

For the record, I would like to live in a society with a severaly limited government. Capitalism has shown itself to work better than other system tried, but it never lasts long before governments manipulated the market to its own ends -- therefore government should not be able to establish liability limiting corporations. Yes, our economy would grow more slowly but by requiring each to be responsible for their own choices, many (sorry leftist dreamer but not all) of our current problems could be avoided. Notice this also allows individuals to group themselves and voluntarily form a collective -- they'd just have to be responsible for their choices.

Now, both sides can hate on me for a while.

Would it have the power to prevent the mess we now have in the Gulf of Mexico?

Capitalism has shown itself to work better than other system tried
I disagree. Our mixed economic system - with common sense regulation of the private ownership of the means of production - works much better than laissez faire.

I thrive on abusing the legal system.
