Thread: Anatomy of a Failing Presidency

  1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA This gentleman Hunt, is a CORP. PSEUDO SCI-SPIN DOCTOR! He had little factual data. I do agree with his point on 'Bama not having a similar story to myself. But frankly after Bushie, I am JUST WAITING on him to finish this whole deal off. So we can have a fresh start like our forefathers, there really isn't another viable alternative, this place is more broken than just a President could fix. So unless Jehovah gets his act in gear pretty soon, we need to try something else.

That was a red flag to any one who was studying him closely instead of following him blindly. Shortly after B.O. took up residency in the White House, it became crystal clear why he didn't go into specifics. If the people had been made aware of his true agenda, McCain would be our President.

I will maintain, until my last breath, that Obama stole the Presidency through lies, misrepresentations, half-truths and disception. And, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's an illegal alien himself!

When it's all said and done, I believe that God allowed a usurper to become our "Dear Leader" because that's what our nation deserves. Our government is increasingly turning it's back on Him, so He's just reciprocating.
Correct you are Mom, I think you covered all bases.

Well said wife and mom. One question, or should I say comment? What happens at the local and state levels over the next two years, and climaxing with the 2012 Presidential election will determine if people really see whats going on, or will continue to be fooled by lying politicians. As it says in the Bible, as ye sow, so shall ye reap. A modern day version of that might say something like, as ye vote, so shall ye be free, or ruled.

Why everyone thinks that the people who voted were fooled, amazes me. Get real, liberals voted liberal knowing exactly what they were voting for. It's called CHANGE, remember? The only reason a liberal says that they were fooled is because things aren't working out so well and they don't want people to know the truth, that they're stupid. And if they voted and didn't know anything about the person they voted for, they're even more stupid. Voting is what got us here, and voting again won't get us out.

If it's modern day, the version should say this..America has sown to the wind, and is now reaping the WHIRLWIND.

Broken is the best way to describe the political condition. Broken by those politicians and elected officials that have their own agenda and have forgotten how to listen to the people. Since when has that been beneficial to the working American? Follow the party directive and be a good sheep...

Broken by the people who have become complacent and forget that being involved in government takes work and effort. I've been guilty of that very thing that I now feel has become a major issue. I intend to make my vote count and lend any assistance to politicians that I believe have what it takes to change things for the better. Of course I define better in a way that may counter your ideal view of better... I also intend to make sure "he" will be a single term president... Stop the erosion and prevent any further damage if possible...

It's broken by voters who allowed a presidents to be elected that has no common sense nor feeling for what the American people are all about and what we really need in a leader. His wife had the audacity to comment that she was now finally proud to be an American? Despite all the ills here in this nation, I have never not felt proud to be American.
He spoke in Europe and said that America has "failed to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world" and has "shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive" towards its allies. Arrogance? Must be nice to speak like that about a nation that you have been allowed to represent and lead the executive branch thereof.

We the people have allowed senators and congresspeople to become powerful lawmakers that are not kept fully in check by term limits. They are allowed to linger in a position too long and become obtuse, lackluster, and part of the company store. Bought and paid for by special interest money. We need to hold them accountable for all that they do and hold them to the highest standards. The special interest groups have been allowed to run government business via the money and buying votes. Back room politics have become acceptable and a normal means of getting things done. Why has this been allowed to happen with no recourse? We shrug and say "Ah business as usual"..

The handouts... I'm gonna stop here... It gets worse...

"I am JUST WAITING on him to finish this whole deal off." What did you mean here? Finish what deal off? Deciding the fate of more tax payer money by jamming that piece of crap health care bill up our asses? Encroaching ever closer into all of our lives by removing more individual freedom?

Why wait for it? It's happening now... I agree with it being broken here, Many on this site will as well, perhaps some will not. Waiting around will possibly allow that one or two votes that could possibly get another politician get elected that will help support his agenda and get us further into broken...
Perhaps waiting will get him elected for another term so he can continue to... Gotta hold my tongue here...

My opinion posted for public rebuke..

    Peace...
You can give peace a chance alright..

I'll seek cover in case it goes badly..

An article from American Thinker by Geoffrey P. Hunt

The following is an interesting article. You might ask how long Dr. Hunt can remain at NIH once the White House gets wind of this article.

Dr. Hunt is a social and cultural anthropologist. He has had nearly 30 years experience in planning, conducting, and managing research in the field of youth studies, and drug and alcohol research. Currently Dr. Hunt is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Scientific Analysis and the Principal Investigator on three National Institutes on Health projects. He is also a writer for American Thinker.

    Anatomy of a Failing Presidency

Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson. In the modern era, we've seen several failed presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ. Failed presidents have one strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party. Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China 20.

But, Barack Obama is failing. Failing big. Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed. Clarice Feldman of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.

But, there is something more seriously wrong: How could a new president riding in on a wave of unprecedented promise and goodwill have forfeited his tenure and become a lame duck in six months? His poll ratings are in free fall. In generic balloting, the Republicans have now seized a five point advantage. This truly is unbelievable. What's going on?

No narrative. Obama doesn't have a narrative. No, not a narrative about himself. He has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly disguised or written by someone else. But this self-narrative is isolated and doesn't connect with us. He doesn't have an American narrative that draws upon the rest of us. All successful presidents have a narrative about the American character that intersects with their own where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with the majority of Americans. We admire those presidents whose narratives not only touch our own, but who seem stronger, wiser, and smarter than we are. Presidents we admire are aspirational peers, even those whose politics don't align exactly with our own: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Ike, and Reagan.

But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing about economics, and is historically illiterate and woefully small minded for the size of the task--all contributory of course. It's that he's not one of us. And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper. Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.

In the meantime, while we've been struggling to take a measurement of this man, he's dissed just about every one of us--financiers, energy producers, banks, insurance executives, police officers, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, post office workers, and anybody else who has a non-green job. Expect Obama to lament at his last press conference in 2012: "For those of you I offended, I apologize. For those of you who were not offended, you just didn't give me enough time; if only I'd had a second term, I could have offended you too."

Mercifully, the Founders at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 devised a useful remedy for such a desperate state--staggered terms for both houses of the legislature and the executive. An equally abominable Congress can get voted out next year. With a new Congress, there's always hope of legislative gridlock until we vote for president again two short years after that.

Yes, small presidents do fail, Barack Obama among them. The coyotes howl but the wagon train keeps rolling along.

Margaret Thatcher: "The trouble with Socialism is, sooner or later you run out of other people's money."

"When you subsidize poverty and failure, you get more of both." - James Dale Davidson, National Taxpayers Union

"The more corrupt the state, the more it legislates." - Tacitus

"A Liberal is a person who will give away everything he doesn't own." - Unknown
