I have seen this one before on this forum, but it still is probably more to the truth than just some made up tail. Unfortunatly for us, a lot of the people in government think they are entitled to all the perks that they seem to get, and don't feel a damn bit obligated to repay the common people on the street.

There was nothing bold about the pledge. It did not promise to make any significant cuts in spending. It did not promise to abolish the income tax and dismantle the IRS. It did not promise to abolish the Department of Education and return that responsibility to the states. Both parties are faced with a real challenge. A significant number of Americans are demanding cuts in spending and a smaller government, but many employees are saying, "but no cuts to social security"; teachers are saying "but no cuts to pensions and the Federal Department of Education"; accountants and tax attorneys are saying "but no cuts to IRS or changes in the current tax nightmare". Somebody in America is going to have to sacrifice something and politicians are going to have to speak truth if they want to save the Republic.
This accountant isn't saying that. But, I'm probably in the minority and your point is well-taken. I would gladly vote to abolish the IRS and the infururiating tax code and would find some other way to make a living. Of course (sigh...) that's not ever gonna happen. You're right in that everyone is in it for their own narrow interests, not the good of the country. And the Constitution? What's that?

INSANITY----Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Either keep the insanity going or make a difference and vote for leaders in your respective areas. Be active, be vocal, make a difference in your communities. IF NOT, keep the insanity going. We all have choices.....................and speaking of contracts, anyone thinking of taking one out on anyone specifically?
