May God Bless their souls. Sad story but I strongly believe through, they should not have been there in the first place. As with Terry Waite, he knew he was going into a HOT AREA of the world , expect to be burned. He got away with his life, lucky, very lucky.
There's places around the World that IS NOT SAFE. Ya can't candy coat it, you can't call it a "B" when it's an "A". Feeling good about it doesn't make it any safer either. These people took their own life into their hands, foolishly.

I'm not sure it would have been illegal to be armed on the yacht. It was the home of one of the couples on it. It wasn't a cruise liner.

I don't know maritime law, maybe somebody who is more familiar could clue us in. They were traveling in international waters.

Of real concern is the fact that a US warship with Navy Seals on board was 600 yards away for several days, and did nothing. They did nothing as innocent US citizens were illegally held against their will and then killed. They did nothing because their commander-in-chief has no guts. You can bet that 99%(or more) of those sailors on that warship wanted to put their training to use to save their fellow Americans. Of this I have no doubt. I do not doubt the courage of my fellow Americans, well one I do and he's calling the shots.

The one you are worried about is not a fellow American.

Now, we get to bring those pirates back home to New York City, have show trials, and then sentence them to a couple of decades of better living conditions than they had back where they came from at our expense.

They should all be hung from the USS Sterett's yardarm, and an hour after death, unceremoniously tossed back into the fetid waters from which they came, forgotten but for a notation in the captain's log, "Hung 19 pirates today."

It is not illegal to have guns onboard in International Waters. It is illegal to go into some ports with them though, or when passing thru a country's waters. Other ports only require that they be reported or locked in lockers when in port.

First take pictures of the deceased in their 'neckties' to distribute in areas prone to piracy with a simple message, THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU .

Now, now. You can't go tossing dead pirates in the water. It might make the sharks sick. Better to toss them in alive.. Gives the sharks a chance to work up a hunger first. And if any can make it to shore they'd serve as examples by spreading the word. Don't make it, oh well. It was your time to be chum.
