You are very right, personally I would have to agree with Buddha - "Work our your own salvation. Do not depend on others."
Seems as though much of our mainstream culture has become so comercial, people have lost their root values. Crap just think of how many homeless would have a roof over their heads at night if "God's House's" opened their doors after dark.

True, but it's a shame there is also no recourse against "STUPID". Far too many people listen and follow "Spiritiual Leaders" on faith alone or because they just don't think about what is real in the "Real World".
    Good Luck!!!

FWIW...My wife and I were having a beer with some friends thinking, "It's such a nice day today...Hey wait, aren't we supposed to die in an hour?" We all just laughed and had another beer!

The series was called "The Real World" and its airing was the begining of the end for MTV.

Churches have tried that time and time again, both in the daylight and after dark. But, as usual, the "ungodly hypocrites" in the surrounding area of these caring denominations complained about the "homeless" being attracted to their area due to Godly acts of kindness.

Orlando actually refused a zoning permit to a homeless shelter because "other cities need to do their share first"
