    Some interesting numbers

    Born 1776, Died 2008

It doesn't hurt to read this several times.

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul,
Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the last (2008)
    Presidential election:

    * Number of States won by: Obama:19 McCain: 29
    * Square miles of land won by: Obama:580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
    * Population of counties won by: Obama:127million McCain: 143 million
    * Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won
was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income
tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of
democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having
    reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegal's - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to
the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much
is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom

Try a little fact-checking before you post inaccurate information:

Apparently this same fiction was circulated about the Bush / Gore race as well.

Look, as much as I don't like that Obama is in office, these numbers are downright deceptive. Obama won 28 states and the District of Columbia, not 21 (California, Colorado, Connecicut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, NewMexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin). Furthermore, his 66 million+ popular vote total was the highest in history. As for the square miles of counties won, that doesn't mean squat. Candidates represent people, not tracts of land. Whether you like Obama or not, THOSE are the facts. And please don't use the fact that I stated this onfo to suggest that I'm a pro-Obama troll; I'm not.

Bottom line, Obama won McCain didn't. Now let's get about fixing this mess in 2012.

I don't believe in snopes -- I can make my own research if I want to. Snopes uses the same search engine as many of us do. If you know your facts, you can challenge snopes, many already has...and so the saga continues....

go ahead and blast snopes but the original post in this thread is simply wrong. I went through and did the numbers myself once and while skewed slightly higher in "Obama" states the murder rate differential was not nearly so drastic. The mentioning of land is a logical fallacy, it's irrelevant. And the numbers of states won is simply incorrect

Sorry I thought I could trust the source. It came to me by e-mail. I guess only Obama is allowed to post fictious facts...:) I couldn't resist that...How is that stimulus money working for you...Or those jobs "created or"saved", or all those shovel ready jobs. I know it is all Bush's fault...Besides I had to post it before I could read it. Sound familiar?

Agreed, I find it disconcerting the amount of time people spend posting fud on the internet and fanning strange conspiracy theories as opposed to actually getting things done.
