Here's what I would do to "save the country": Run all liberals/socialists and their hair-brained and half-baked ideas right the hell out of the country. I mean, as long as we're dreaming...
Prov. 27:3 - "Stone is heavy and sand a burden, but provocation by a fool is heavier than both"

  5. Tax the wealthy more? That's a great idea. Make it a punishment for getting off your a$$ and making something with yourself. Bright idea there. How about just a flat tax rate. X percent. Everybody pays the same. There should be no incentive for being a deadbeat or proving to society that you are good at making illigitimate kids! Use your head. Redistribution of wealth is retarded.

Icewind, I'm with you on cutting back on UN aid and even getting them out of the US. We should be more picky on foreign aid also. But, explain to me how punishing producers and rewarding non producers is going to save the country? People go into business and invest money to make money. When they can't make money they move on. Alternitive fuels is fine but, what makes you think we are in desperate need for it? Just because some environmental group and/or the US Government says so doesn't necessarily make the need true. They do have an agenda. Wind mills are nothing more than liberal feel good because we care politics. They don't produce that much power and the cost of operation is much higher than other more efficient sources. The best way to generate revenue is to cut the cost of doing business, let capitalism work like it was intended and Government get out of the way. The jobs will come and everyone that wants one will be working. The down side is the Government will have less power and control over the people. Is that a bad thing?

This is just a question, could the US survive if we systematically began to cut imports and exports, close our boarders the right way. Become self sufficient, rely on our craftsmen and our farmers, and our military to protect us, not control us! This seems like a dream but isn't that how we started out? Screw the UN they hate us anyway. Fix our gov't. If this ocurred, the famous DEBT CLOCK would come to a screaching halt, and We could return to the richest land on earth. No more aid, PERIOD. WHERE was obama, I mean osama found? In a country receiving billions in aid from the US. We look like fools to the rest of the world anyway, as they stand in line for aid that we FINANCE from china. WTF? ok i'm done! back to reality!

No joke sir, sorry for the cut and paste....there is plenty of information and the numbers may vary but the fact remains windmills turbines are useless excepts for the farmers that rent their land to the government to put those meat chops on. Our tax dollar pays for them and quite frankly I would rather see our tax dollars in more nuclear plants.

    Killing ~ A Double Standard
Are Birds Less Dead if Killed By A Turbine?

I was recently reading a story by Tony Elliott published in The Cyprus Times , Mr. Elliot makes the point that the average citizen is held to a different standard than wind developers Wind developers are given a free pass to slaughter birds. If an average citizen happens to kill, an endangered species there is hell to pay fines , penalties and even jail.
Elliot cites several cases where average citizens have been taken to task over killing of birds under Federal protection. The bottom line is the Federal government will pursue, arrest, and convict anyone who has deliberately killed an eagle. That is unless you happen to be a wind company.
Mr. Elliot contends that Wind developers should be prosecuted for killing Eagles and birds under Federal protection “one has to wonder if the Federal government is going to enforce the current laws in place protecting these birds. More of Tony Elliot’s story here.
    New York
In 1975, Dec officials discovered that they could only document only one, unproductive pair of eagles In New York State .This species was on the brink of extinction, and as a result, they began an earnest effort to restore bald eagles to New York. It has been thirty five years since their efforts began but the DEC”s Jan 2010 mid-winter survey saw a record 101 bald eagles on the St. Lawrence River between Cape Vincent and Massena. The prohibitions against taking or killing bald eagles in the federal Endangered Species Act of 1973, and the initiation of New York's Endangered Species Program in 1976 began a dramatic turnaround for our national symbol. These efforts may have been futile as the St. Lawrence River Valley is slated to become home to hundreds of eagle chopping industrial wind turbines. How is it is possible that industrial wind turbines are allowed to be placed in major bird flyways? Is it acceptable to kill an endangered species if you have a kill permit? Is a bird any less dead if a turbine slaughters it? How long will it take this fragile species to once again be on the brink of extinction in New York, or elsewhere in our nation? Fish and Wildlife scientist put the figure at 440,000 annual bird deaths by wind turbines. Recently it has been discovered that the Bay Area's Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area in California is responsible for killing over 60 Golden Eagles per year for the last 30 years.

The BP oil spill killed approximately 6000 birds by best estimates. Even the wind industry low ball estimates say wind turbines will kill about 30,000 birds a year. That was from a very recent wind developer presentation I attended. That would be the equivalent of 5 BP oil spill bird impacts each year. More reliable sources say wind turbines will kill more like 400,000 birds per year.

One of the most assinine things I have seen was a wind developer presentation where they were talking about how mercury pollution from coal plants was killing the loons because of the accumulation of mercury in their systems, then a few moments later justifying that it was ok for wind turbines to kill thousands of other birds

    LOL, just what I thought

lol, gun carrying nuts with no answers. while most of you hide behind the 2nd amendment (that most of you have done nothing to help preserve) you sit back and pick apart other people's efforts.
Well I guess we can always blame the public school system, no doubt most of you are graduates from.
Go on, run to your Mitt Romney and other no name loser candidates.

I still honestly believe that the Dems (other side) contribute much to the REPs to choose who is going to run opposite their "Chosen One". Pretty much what happened to Huckabee/McCain in the primary 4 years ago. They (Dems) knew that McCain cannot possibly win against they invested in him. Just my opinion...politics is a dirty business. I hope many people will wake to that least my opinion.
