    We share the same opinion.

Well I guess we can always blame the public school system, no doubt most of you are graduates from.
Go on, run to your Mitt Romney and other no name loser candidates.
Gee Ice: If you are not a gun-carrying nut also, why are you on here criticizing those who are? If your post at the beginning of this thread is the effort you are saying others are trying to pick apart, I don't see it that way. There is a lot of merit in what you had to say but what are you doing to remedy the situation besides shoot back at others on here? I dare say many on here belong to organizations that support and defend the Second Amendment and are doing what they can in any way they can. It also seems like you are questioning the intelligence of people who were in the public school system and implying their opinions are less qualified than yours. Would you care to enlighten us on where you obtained your education and what qualifies you to look down on others? As I said, there is a lot of merit in what you had to say but you demean yourself and your argument by trying to belittle others for expressing their opinions. Also, since you consider Romney to be a loser, who will you vote for? Obama?

  5. Icewind is a blowhard. In other threads he has claimed that he enjoys shooting and carries "on occasion" (I personally don't know which occasions I'd rather survive than the ones I'd rather not, but whatever). He refuses to respond to reasonable arguments, selecting only those arguments that make no sense, and then paints everyone with a broad brush. If you're expecting a reasonable conversation you're barking up the wrong tree.
And Icewind? If you think people on this board have "done nothing" to help preserve the constitution, you are simply wrong. I would bet good money more than half of us have some military experience. I personally have served in the US Navy, am married to a two-time Afghanistan War veteran, and am currently raising a future soldier, who will enter the armed services after he graduates from high school and plans to become a career soldier. But you haven't mentioned your service. What would that be exactly?

..... and all of OP's horses and all of OP's men couldn't make this happen on a bet. (Not to mention shows an astonishing level of unsophistication in the field of economics.)

I suggest OP keep wishing in one hand and crap in the other....... guess which will be filled first?

I believe what we have here is your basic troll. Bye the way, there ARE two kinds of trolls; Your average, laughable, run of the mill troll and a troll that shows a little education and understanding, I prefer to term that lot "sophistitrolls". Ice, of course, does not score high enough on the knowledge scale to be awarded that "honor". LOL!

It's obvious he hasn't got to it yet from his first post, that's for sure.

Actually, wind power is worse than useless: I just saw a report today that showed wind power put out more carbon emissions than if they had just used gas turbines instead. To whit: For every MW of wind power being generated, you have to have 1 MW of standby generation on immediate hand for when (not if) the wind stops blowing. All that stand by generators simply turning to keep them on stand by burn a lot of oil generating nothing in return. Wind power = massively stupid.

The New American Socialism is my title, and there's a reason for that.

Knowing what the problems are, are the critical missing links for us, the average Jane and Joe. I've been trying to figure out how the world operates for quite some time now, and I've developed a general sense of how things work without all the technical details.

I uncovered a financial resource that may have put a name to what we're suffering from.

See if this link works. I pay for subscriptions, so not sure what is front page, or back shelf access.

Here you will find an excerpt of the long essay from Porter Standberry of Stansberry Associates whom I believe coined the problem with a descriptive name.

No one knows what to call it...

That's part of the problem. It's difficult to criticize something that doesn't yet have a proper name.

You can't just call our economic system "socialism." It's not. There's a profit motive and private ownership of nearly all assets. Socialism has neither of these. Besides, far too many people have become far too rich in our system to simply label it "socialism."

If you have ever traveled to an actual socialist country with a power grid that never works, little public sanitation, petty graft at every turn, and endemic, horrifying poverty you realize our system and real socialism aren't the same at all....

Go here for the short version

    New American Socialism

It will be very interesting reading for you.

Why things are so bad, and keep getting worse as time goes by has more to the with the public education system in concert with Hollywood and the media which are owned by the secular government but run by liberal progressives.

We are dissolving our culture, our morals, our values via indoctrination of our young by the schools and the media and the magazines, the social networking sites, etc. They are grabbing their all their attention, taking our kids aside, and in very clever ways telling that their parents just don't get it, that we're just not with it and we don't understand. It's very effective

This guy sounds more like a liberal. Maybe he thinks Obamas plans will save rather than destroy this country? My plan is to tax hell out of every liberal politician then maybe they'd wake up:)
