    Thumbs down Westboro Baptist Church

I am sure that Westboro Baptist Church will take note.

    Whaaaa??????

The item concerns what the military flag detail says when presenting a flag to a veteran's survivor. Not a word about WBC.

The link was dead but a search on factcheck showed that the White House made no changes to protocol. Each branch can do their own thing and can use the name of the President or not as they choose.

Made the OP from my phone using the forum app. I think that's why it didn't format correctly.

40 years ago, I spent my last 6 months in the army as NCOIC of a regional funeral detail.

At thet time, I used the phrase "On behalf of a greatful nation...", there was no mention of the president OR the SecDef...

First, thank you for your service.

Secondly, I appreciate your words of "On behalf of a grateful nation..." as we should be greatful for the sacrifice the serving person AND his or her family made. Along with that, mentioning the name of the non-prez would be an insult to thier service, in my opinion.

Yes but Westboro Baptist Church attends a lot of military funerals, they are showing god's love to this "Christian" nation.

I'll just put an awkward smile on my face, nod slowly, and head over...here.
