It's sad, really, I have "different" political opinions, about a quarter what some would consider "very conservative" and about three-quarters what some would consider "very liberal". Unfortunately, it means I'm never happy with a politicians, since invariably there are a few things that REALLY annoy me about them, even if I agree on nearly everything else. (For example, many liberals' stance on gun rights. Or many fiscal conservatives' stance on social issues.)
Didn't mean to imply that you were angry but that is a stance most liberals will take when people don't argee with them. I disagree that liberals have left the republican party. Like someone said on another topic solcialism has taken over the democrats and democrats have taken over the republicans. Just my opinion.

Shoot, I think I'm probably the most liberal person on this forum. I don't mind if people disagree with me. There's almost always some truth to be found. I DO mind if people are rude, or if they attack the person instead of the idea.

Part of being open-minded (the epitome of liberalism) is being open to ALL ideas, not just the ones that mesh with your comfort zone. Learn what you can, take what you need, and remember, no one is ever completely useless. They can always serve as a bad example.

Romney (failed Romney care). McCain. (Incumbent protection, er, McCain/Fiengold plan) There are more, but those two are so shiney as examples that I don't feel the need to continue discussing lib's in the repub's (RINO's).

BTW, if you look at percentages, say above the 90% mark, which party has the most of: Gun control advocates; big government, high tax job-killing legislation supporters; supporters of the marxist plans of our current regime, anti-Israel types. Certainly isn't the "Tea Party" and although some lib's are in fact in the republican group, go ahead and guess which party by in large contains the above 3 mentioned groups? Seems silly to deny it, but some will or they will divert attention which is a popular tactic when a logical argument cannot be made.

Oh no...more monkeys flying out of my butt. Will someone sometime pull their head out and look around? No wonder people think gun owners are crazy people!

I dare you to read this entire article, with thought. It sites examples, some of which I'm alread familiar with as i do pay attention to both sides of most current events (CNN, NBC or ABC on one side, conservative outlets on the other). Open minded? Let's just see...

Oh, if you are STILL of the thinking that the "mainstream" media is not biased:

For what it's worth, a majority of people were against the armed insurrection against England back in the late 1700's...

The main stream media is biased? When did that happen?

If you take into account some of the lefty's comments here in this and in similar threads you'd think that the "main stream" media is still doing information reporting... Although everyone knows it and I might drone on and on with it (the obvious) it's still fun to put a burr of truth under their saddles. ;-)

They really are consistent. They, progressives/liberals, preach tolerance but practice intolerance. Always, every time. As long as you go along with them and listen to them, they are tolerant of you. Somewhere in their schooling, they are taught the 'hypocritical oath'.

Most who claim to be open minded are in essence double minded and superficial. Hypocrisy comes to mind.

Listen to what they say then watch what they do. That tells it all.
