Lightbulb What has become of America

    What has America Become?

    Dear Editor,
Has America become the land of the special interest and home of the double standard?

Let’s see: if we lie to Congress it’s a felony and if congress lies to us it just politics; if we dislike a black person, we’re racist and if a black person dislikes whites, it’s their first Amendment right; the government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and they do almost nothing for the victims; in public school you can teach that homosexuality is OK, but you better not use the word GOD in the process; you can kill an unborn child, but its wrong to execute a mass murderer; we don’t burn books in American, we now rewrite them; we got rid of the communist and socialist threat by renaming the progressive; we are unable to close our border with Mexico but have no problem protecting the 38th parallel in Korea; if you protest against President Obama policies you’re a terrorist, but if you burn an American flag or George Bush effigy it was your 1st Amendment right.

You can have pornography on your TV or internet, but you better not put a nativity scene in a public park during Christmas; we have eliminated all criminals in America, they are now called sick people; we can use a humane fetus for medical research, but it’s wrong to use an animal.

We take money from those who work hard for it and give it to those who don’t want to work; we all support the Constitution, but only when it supports our political ideology; we still have freedom of speech, but only if we are being politically correct; parenting has been replaced with Ritalin and video games; the land of opportunity is now the land of handouts.

How do we handle a major crisis today? The government appoints a committee to determine who’s at fault, then threatens them, passes laws and raises our taxes; telling us the problem is solved so they can get back to their reelection campaign. What happened to the land of the brave and home of the free?

Friend sent me a copy of this from his local paper. Just had to pass it on. This guy has his head on his shoulders!

Very well said, I am going to pass this along. Unfortunantly I believe we have passed a point of no return..."hell in a hand basket" I say these days. Soon it will come to a head and all hell is going to break loose. We have seen just recently how peopl react over a mear towel at black fri, how do you think their going to act when the food, welfare and water run dry at the store. All we can now is believe strong in your own faith and prep for family for the inevitable. I wish you luck my friend.

Maybe not past the point but dangerously close. We now support 51% of the population(not counting the money going to foreign countries). Seems real Americans(the ones still working--or willing to work) are getting increasingly disillusioned at having to keep up the rest of the world. We work half a year just to pay taxes. Am retired but having to work(like working instead of loafing) to maintain some level of comfort.

I work because I love what I do...but I hate giving anything to those who just sit on their butts doing nothing but be a burden to society.

Progressive liberals have created a nation of victims that only government programs can help. These poor deprived victims breed more victims and they only know the government as their provider. They vote to keep these liberals in power to protect these poor victims from the greedy conservatives that expect them to work to provide for their well being. How cruel is that? Why know wonder we have crime problems in some areas. All these victims are loosing their government lively hood because heartless conservatives are trying to cut government programs.

If you voted for Obama to prove that you're not RACIST, then you have to vote for someone else next time to prove that you're NOT STUPID!

Ive never been out of work in my life and now I have not had a full time regular job since 08... I have also not recieved one dime of assistance other than my pell grant to go back to school. Not one penny of food stamp, not one penny of unemployment. I live like my grandparents taught me and get by in tough times. I bake my own bread and our household grocery list reads like a WWII ration card, flour sugar eggs butter etc. I was invited out as a treat by a friend to applebees and it "felt" like a real treat. Years ago when times were better I would blow a couple hundred bucks on a night out... The whole idea is so alien nowi dont knowif I could ever bring myself to do it ever again,no matter how much money I make. I told my wife one night over dinner that we are "that generation". We grew up in the hard times of the late 70's and early 80's and now in our own time we aren't doing much better. We saved for a year to get my ccw and my pistols so that we could defend what little we have. I hope things turn around soon or just get it over with and fall completely apart, doesnt matter much to me either way.

The big factors for everyone to consider is whether or not the State they live in is a viable state. Does your state have food and natural resources? Does you state have the ways and means to support ALL of its citizens? Are your fellow citizens made,of tough stuff,to,make it in post-America with small independant republics and confederations? Will you be able to make it through the first winter?

I live near Charleston SC. I'm skeered. It's better in the upstate region but the Lowcountry is gonna suck if things fall apart. I hate the thought of it but I'll have to realize what this thing on my hip is capable of living in this area.

It's hard to think about relocating when I have my life dedicated to a business I started when I still had the energy to do it. Starting over is just not an option, unless there becomes no choice.

    Skeery skeery times!
