    Dissappointed

I am truly disappointed in some of my fellow Americans. That they feel they have the authority to infringe on my 2nd Amendment right is beyond contemptible, and treasonous besides. They either have no real understanding of the Constitution nor the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights, or they are willfully complicit in the usurpation of those rights. States rights be damned, I don't think the states have the right to determine how the 2nd Amendment applies to Joe Citizen. After all, it's in the Constitution, and they entered the union knowing full well what that document says, thereby AGREEING with its contents. They have no more authority to infringe it than the federal government does.

There was once a place named America, where people had the opportunity to prosper off the fruit of their own labor and Individual Liberty ruled the day. People understood that what other people did was none of their business, unless of course it was harming them or their property. The gov't controlled almost nothing, good people ran the show locally and that's all that was needed. The Constitution was actually used to restrain the federal gov't, not the people. Ideas such as Socialism, Marxism and Communism were treated like poison, and abolished quickly.

Now, we are turned 180 degrees in the other direction... and loving it. The ignorant masses, the useful idiots will continue to vote themselves money and expect the gravy train to never end. In doing so, they will have sold their Liberty to the devil that is gov't... and your's right along with it. As sickening as it may be, you need to understand that they don't care and they never will. They expect fairness to be attainable at the hand of the law instead of from good moral teaching, and the force of gov't is their tool in ensuring that the minority rules the roost while the majority pays for it.

You are now entering New American Socialism, we'd prefer it if you didn't enjoy your stay.

The democrats want us all, color of your skin means nothing, in chains. They won't rest until they control all facets
of our lives. The US Constitution is the only document in their way. If they convince enough low information supporters into believing the US Constitution is an old out dated document that must be rewritten we are in deep trouble.

We are in deep trouble indeed. I don't need to go into a laundry list of our problems again. I'm concentrating my efforts on stocking up, and studying. We all know what's coming; the real dilemma is when? There isn't a magical formula like 106% debt to GDP, or inflation above 4% that will result in the collapse, but a combination of many smaller events could set the ball rolling. Almost assuredly, two things will be constant. One, the global elite will not suffer; in fact, they may even gain wealth. And two, the rest of us will be be made to pay for it, and we'll see further erosion of our "rights".

But it doesn't appear to me that the Constitution *is* in their way. As I said, it's either because they don't understand it, or they're intentionally trying to disregard it.

I suppose it's okay, though, because when the shooting starts, they and their holier-than-thou moral values will have precluded them from owning a gun, and they'll be among the first to perish in the name of liberty.

Is there any other guarantee in the Bill of Rights that states "Shall not infringe". Pretty plain in my lay mind!

The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are just pieces of paper. Let me clarify. There is no explicit guarantee in the second amendment; in fact Connecticut, Colorado, New Hampshire, and New York have all proven that "Shall not be infringed" are just words on a piece of faded parchment. The framers of the Constitution were merely stating the obvious and prevalent belief that defense of self is humanity's highest and most valued right; a right which preexisted the penning of said document. I pray that the liberty loving residents of those previously named states will either flee to a non-slave state, or resolve to not abide by an unjust law. Just as the colonials at Lexington knew that Gage was coming for their stores of guns and ammunition, they also knew that history is written by the victors. Only if they were fired upon first, would they win in the court of public opinion.

If I could get this quote in my signature, I'd change it.

"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Winston Churchill
