CBS Accuses Obama Administration of Silencing Benghazi Witnesses

    By: Steven Ahle

CBS correspondent Lara Logan, whose investigation into Benghazi led to a blockbuster expose on 60 Minutes, claims that the government is exerting great pressure on survivors not to talk. Between the prosecution of whistleblowers and the NSA spying tactics, witnesses are spooked and will generally only talk in person, which can delay an investigation.

Logan was asked about the obstacles she faced in reporting on the Benghazi attack.

“An extraordinary amount of pressure on the people involved not to talk. And an extraordinary amount of pressure on anyone in the government–the military side, the political side–not to say anything outside of official channels.”

“I mean, to the point where people that we’ve known for years would call people who were no longer in their positions, and they would call someone else that we knew, and messages would be delivered like that because there couldn’t be any trail linking you directly to our story.”

“The administration is cracking down so hard on leakers: no one wants to put anything in writing, everybody is scared to talk over the phone, people want to meet in person–all of that makes it that much harder to investigate anything.”

Lindsay Graham, R-SC has tweeted that he will hold up every Obama nominee until the survivors are allowed to talk to investigators.

In July Rep Frank Wolf, R-Va, revealed that survivors of Benghazi had been forced to sign nondisclosure forms and have to take regular lie detector tests on whether they are talking to the press or not.

“According to trusted sources that have contacted my office, many if not all of the survivors of the Benghazi attacks along with others at the Department of Defense, the CIA have been asked or directed to sign additional non-disclosure agreements about their involvement in the Benghazi attacks. Some of these new NDAs, as they call them, I have been told were signed as recently as this summer.”

On August 1st, Jake Tapper of CNN, revealed for the first time that there was a large group of CIA agents in Benghazi on the night of the attacks.

Logan’s report included an on the air interview with a British soldier using the pseudonym Morgan Jones. Jones claims he continually warned the compound that they did not have enough security. In the end, he said he got tired of hearing his own voice repeating the warning over and over again.

Lieutenant Colonel Andy Wood, a top American security official in Libya, said he spoke to Ambassador Stevens personally and told him,

“I made it known in a country team meeting, ‘You are gonna get attacked. You are gonna get attacked in Benghazi. It’s gonna happen. You need to change your security profile.’”

Amazing... some pinholes in the MSM veil. At this juncture, I don't believe they mean much but hope springs eternal.
Hat tip on these two reports, Opsspec1991.

It's doesn't take much to keep most main stream news media reporters in check as most are big time supporters of the Obama and any democrat administration. If the reporters aren't supporters the network exec's are.

I am quite simply incredulous as to how easily reporters and so many in general public easily accept the totalitarian tactics of this administration and even local government. I know the answers as to why; but I still find it difficult to believe. There are so many people who look to government for their every need. We are becoming a nation of sheep who are unable to live as a free and independent people. The people of the U.S. have squandered their inheritance of liberty and independence that our country's founders bequeathed to us. I am afraid of this government, but refuse to acquiesce and accept slavery to the federal government. Simply, I will not comply with dictates of a tyrant. Blatantly unconstitutional laws should not be followed by a free people, despite the consequences.

What do you expect from a thin skinned liar. Hope and change?

I knew exactly what expect because all the information about this liar was available in 2008. Conservatives were trying to warn people but were ignored. And the mainstream media were involved in an incestuous love affair with a black communist who they knew would work to establish the socialist dictatorship that they always wanted. We have almost half of the voters who can simply be described as uninformed or just plain stupid. They wanted the government largesse that the evil wealthy (those who work) would have to pay for. Perhaps we deserve what we are about to get. We are either part of the ignorant class who fell for the hope and change crap; or we didn't try hard enough to educate them.

Obama is still at 42% approval in most polls. What I want to know is who are the really stupid people who still approve of this lying piece of crap?

The 42% (ref: Buckey01 post above) that approve of Big "O" are - low information voters (which constitutes a variety of people), most of the recipient class, true believers in the cause (e.g. totalitarian statists, leftwing socialists, etc.), or are in on the fix. For at least two of these classes they will not recognize their mistake until it actually impacts them personally. The others.... well, like most "believers" in the cause they'll only wake up when the totalitarian state no longer needs them - the believers and the active intelligentsia are the first to be purged once the states goals are met. And... why do these maroons always believe that it will "be different this time"?

How many of us feel like a voice crying in the wilderness? We probably all wanted to educate others but how many listened; how many were, are, and continue to be enthralled with the anointed one even when proven to be a prevaricator of the highest level? The folks have only a handful of rights left and even these are in flux: freedom to travel (except when coming into a citizenship checkpoint), right of habeus corpus (this one is now getting tenuous if one crosses the authorities, relatively low levels of censorship (but high levels of propaganda), freedom to keep arms (the bearing part is becoming more of a ? mark); I missed some, but you get the gist. Virtually all of our rights are now subject to men and not to fixed law. Beware, flexible interpretation of basic law is but one harbinger of an encroaching totalitarian government.

Unfortunately, we haven't been a true constitutional republic for a century. Economically we have passed the point of no return on the road to destruction. I can remember my first year economics professor (50 rears ago) explaining that the economy would collapse if we ever reached the point where more people were dependent upon the government than were actually working. Congratulations, we have reached that milestone. Even a Keynesian knew the country couldn't survive for long after that point.
