Most of you are probably aware of my hardline stance against both Obama and McCain. Well, their votes for this monstrosity only strengthened my desire to vote for someone else.

The largest tranfer of wealth in American history. Obama wants to give money to lower income or no income people and Mccain wants to give it to his buddies, Oil company's and things like that. So Lets please realize that we can't point fingers at either candidate on this subject. This bailout package is the most socialistic thing the government has done in a long time, and i'm glad Senator Mccain felt it was so important to suspended his campaign to get it passed.
I'd prefer normal corruption to both corruption and wealth redistribution.

And why should we have to put up with either?

thank you toreska and tatt for getting this discussion back on track. We were veering of the subject i originally started on. Both are socialist. Do any of you guys make 250k a year. If you do then Obama will tax you more. If not, and i heard this on ABC news last night you will save more under obama than you will Mccain. So look, You guys are totally right. Obama is going to spread the wealth. He said it to Joe the plumber. But if you don't make the 250 k get over it and be happy you will save a little more money.

Great, class warfare talk. Let's get the other guys. Except those other guys own the 5-15 person machine shops, tire stores, plumbing supply houses, and lumber yards that a lot of average folks work at, or soon will will have worked at. Who takes it in the shorts when the owner get hit? Come on, it's not that hard a question.

You all want a vision of the future? They are not even being coy about it anymore, they are willing to say exactly how much they will tax and spend under Obama. Pelosi and crew are rubbing their hands in glee. The $700 billion is forgotten, now it's on to the next $300 billon they are talking about.

"There are a lot of rich guys left we can tax, and this is no time to worry about the deficit, it's time to spend"

YouTube - Barney Frank: Plenty of rich people that we can tax

When they tax those rich people, who is going to lose in the end? Who can pass those taxes downhill, and who will end up paying for it? Amazing some can't figure this simple lesson out.

Personally, I think ol' jwt should just trot himself on out to California. Those liberals will welcome you with open arms. When osama's new world order bends you over, just hand him your gun (you have one, right?) and the vaseline.

...and by the way....... you're not any more tired of hearing socialism, than many of us are tired of hearing you. Your right to free speech does NOT hold any more right than mine. Deal with it.

jwtollett, do you understand the concept of theft? Saving money because of theft is wrong. The Internal Revenue Service is by far the largest example of white collar crime in the world today.

I don't make over $250k/year, but I'm not going to unfairly attack those who do. Whether someone works for every dime of that or they inherit it from a trust fund set up by their family, it's still their money, and no one has the right to take it. Pauper or billionaire - the state should not be able to touch it.

I understand the tired old line of "voting for my interests" because of my income level. That's total ********, based on the idea of couching the misappropriation of property in institutionalized norms that make it seem legitimate and perfectly okay. People who can't get over the idea that the economy is not fair should (1) get a second job to keep themselves busy and (2) stop whining.

I agree. That is why I put him on the ignore list. I get a note from the forum that shows he has posted but do not actually have to read his drivle.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Joe the plumber even said that he didn't think it was right for the government to dictate who makes too much money. You work hard you are rewarded! It's your reward period! To give it to some welfare recipient or slacker who quit school and can't get a decent job is communism! It goes way beyond socialism!
