i don't really think you should be penalized either for being smart and excelling in life and becoming a millionaire. But i am not going to worry for them. I got to take care of me. Let the rich stand up for themselves. I am looking at me and my family.

I do understand that the irs and government are stealing our money. The thing is they are always going to. We might as well get what we can back from them.

Thats what i loved about mike huckabee. Do away with the irs and let everybody pay the same tax percentage.

Mccain said this week that he would consider the second economic stimulus package that the senate is talking about. he also supported the 700 bailout. Both are socialist period. You guys can't argue with that. Its a fact.

That statement seems a little incongruent with the point you made earlier about us all paying less taxes under an Obama administration, because people making less than $250k will get taxed less than those making above it.

Ok, fine - but why support Obama socialist over McCain socialist? All things being equal, you're supporting a gun grabber over one who doesn't actively attack 2A.

Even still, all things are not equal; the bailout package is a series of loans which will be paid back over time - which is socialism, but in a less dramatic way. Obama's plan is an actual "spreading of the wealth", which makes ordinary people dependent on the teat of government and is quite disgusting.

After this is over, you may want to contact the Federal Elections Commission and from the Cognitive Dissonance political party, and try to run candidates in several states who make speeches like Obama - saying five consecutive sentences on the same topic, each with separate and mutually exclusive points of view, and sometimes not making any sense whatsoever, but sounding absolutely great doing it.

I imagine Obama's account of his day sounds something like:

I woke up in the bright July morning, grabbed my raincoat and walked out into the snow! It was dark out there, lit only by Earth's nearest star, so I had to use a flashlight to find my way around through the many acres of corn. When I came across the mailbox, it was a gallon of milk, so we played a few hoops. Then I was Canadian, and beyond that, I just don't know. What I can tell you though, is I was inspired by that nonsense and you should be, too.

Me and you will pay less under obama.

Thats true but i truly don't feel like he can get my guns. Their are alot of other things hes got to fix. Besides you guys act like he's out to get you or something. My senators, and congressmen here in tn are pro 2a and so are the majority of the people. No guns are coming away from us.

I appreciate you being straight up with me and realizing what i meant in starting this thread. Both Candidates will be socialist in their own ways. Obama will give it to the poor, lower, and middle. Mccain will give it to the rich.

Two other socialist points i want to make about mccain and palin is He wants to give a 5000 tax credit for health care, and while she was in Alaska she give the whole state what 1500 dollars a person. Thats a little socialist. But i totally think thats great that she done that. I wish TN would do that. I just want everyone to realize my point here.

Never mind.
Obvioulsy you are a one track mind. You can't even admit mccain and palin are socialist to. You need to watch who you are calling greedy my friend. Your getting into personal attacks here and its just making me mad. So back off. You should express your views with out insultation. Go read the rules of the forums.

I pay my taxes that i don't want to pay in the first place. If the government decideds to give me medicare, social security, a stimulus check, bail my company out with a 700 billion dollar plan, or health insurance back for it. Praise God what a miracle. I welcome it.

Roger that is our local resident left wing troll. Like most lliberals, he's looking for hand outs from the government. Please don't feed the troll. Half the guys I put in jail are just like him.... they think everybody owes them something including the government. Today's youngsters want it all now instead of having to wait several years of working hard and gaining experience. I didn't make squat in my early 20's and it took several years of working hard and making the right choices. I hate to admit it but I even had a similar mind set to his when I was 21. Thank God I grew up!!! Thank God I voted for Reagan when I was old enough to vote! With age comes experience and with experience comes wisdom. Hopefully he will grow out of that "crying poor mouth" feed me, shelter me, give me more stimulus checks... wah..wah...wah!!!!!

Ok, so I just got home from being at the emergency room all day today due to my kidney stones and what do I come back to? A bunch of emails about this thread. I deleted the last few posts and also sent that user a private message about his language. I don't have time to read every post but I scanned the thread and that seemed to be the only post out of line. Remember, everyone has the right to their own opinion and as long as you stay within the rules of the site then there should be no problem. There is no reason we can't have a discussion about different points of view without having to go overboard. If you can't then put the person you have a problem with on your ignore list or just don't response.

The largest tranfer of wealth in American history. Obama wants to give money to lower income or no income people and Mccain wants to give it to his buddies, Oil company's and things like that. So Lets please realize that we can't point fingers at either candidate on this subject. This bailout package is the most socialistic thing the government has done in a long time, and i'm glad Senator Mccain felt it was so important to suspended his campaign to get it passed.
No disrespect intended but herein lies a major problem in this country. Did McCain get elected as president and I didn't get the news briefing? Is the fact that McCaiin may be as much, or more of a socialist than Obama supposed to communicate a point? The argument that "well, he did it first and is worse than me" should be reserved for the first through third grades and if it is being used by adult senators and representatives, it is one sure indicator of sociopathy.

Who takes it in the shorts when the owner get hit? Come on, it's not that hard a question.

You all want a vision of the future? They are not even being coy about it anymore, they are willing to say exactly how much they will tax and spend under Obama. Pelosi and crew are rubbing their hands in glee. The $700 billion is forgotten, now it's on to the next $300 billon they are talking about.

"There are a lot of rich guys left we can tax, and this is no time to worry about the deficit, it's time to spend"

When they tax those rich people, who is going to lose in the end? Who can pass those taxes downhill, and who will end up paying for it? Amazing some can't figure this simple lesson out.
Thanks for resurrecting this thread. Seems my post from 2008 above was not too far off. Tax the "rich" (which means middle class), now add the new VAT they want (national sales tax) plus they've admitted health insurance will go up for all (who are paying for it)....I guess most people are simply too stupid to see through the lies....
