Here is a survey that may be of interest.

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7

  4. In the primary my vote is for Huckaby but I don't know how well he is going to do. He appeals to me for the same reasons as most of you but I keep hearing things against him by friends who are very pro 2nd ammendment. They have a problem with his religious background, they say he is to extreme for them. This is from an older LEO who has more guns than he knows what to do with. Funny the religious part was what I kind of liked. I think it shows he believes he is accountable to a higher power. I like that in a guy who has his finger on the button.

I agree with you. My fear would be that he might not be as "Christian" as he claims.

Mike Huckabee: Standing Tall For The Second Amendment
    by John Velleco
    Director of Federal Affairs

    http://gunowners.org/pres08/huckabee.htm
To most Americans, Mike Huckabee is probably best known for shedding 110 pounds. But gun owners may remember the former Arkansas Governor as a man who stood firm for the Constitution, and in particular, the Second Amendment, in the face of unspeakable horror.

On March 24, 1998, Andrew Golden and Mitchell Johnson went to a Jonesboro, Arkansas middle school, pulled a fire alarm, and from a nearby wooded area shot and killed four students and a teacher.

The Jonesboro incident was the third in a string of school shootings, and the calls for gun control were deafening. President Bill Clinton, who had been Arkansas' Governor several years earlier, not surprisingly led the charge to restrict gun ownership. People across the country also saw, most for the first time, Governor Huckabee. Would he join those exploiting the tragedy for political purposes and compromise on gun rights? Many people expected him to do just that, but even as the media, the president and anti-gun activists from around the country derided him, the Governor stood by his convictions to uphold the rule of law. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon to add to the burgeoning list of gun laws on the books, Governor Huckabee talked about personal responsibility and the obsession with violence widespread among this country's youth.
On NBC’s Today Show, Governor Huckabee refused to allow host Katie Couric to blame law-abiding gun owners for the shooting:

Couric: Governor Huckabee, this is the third deadly shooting to take place in the South in the last five months. And some criminal experts have ventured a guess that southern society, which has a more permissive attitude towards guns and hunting, and perhaps in some circles even glamorizes those things, that that might have been a factor in some -- in this recent spade of shootings. What's your view of that?

Gov. Huckabee: I take strong exception to that kind of view. Southerners may have a very positive view toward the ownership of firearms and even hunting, but we don't have a positive view about murder, and we certainly don't have a positive view toward murder in a schoolyard.

Two years later, Governor Huckabee was involved in another widely publicized Second Amendment debate. In 2000, much of the firearms industry was involved in a series of bogus lawsuits brought by cities, states, and the federal government. Gun maker Smith & Wesson relented to pressure from the Clinton Administration to settle out of court, and agree on nearly all of the outlandish charges brought in the lawsuits.

In return for this, the company would be rewarded with state and federal government contracts. New York's Attorney General (now Governor) Elliot Spitzer sent a letter to elected officials across the country urging them to support the deal.

Governor Huckabee responded less than enthusiastically.
"Gun manufacturers make the Second Amendment a viable right rather than some theoretical proposition. I will not abuse my authority as governor to pursue their demise or dictate their business practices through coercion," he wrote.

"I will not seek the capitulation of firearm manufacturers through the use of asinine lawsuits or the doling out of taxpayer-funded government contracts. I regret that you feel either of these tactics to be worthwhile endeavors."

Governor Huckabee also signed a law prohibiting frivolous lawsuits against gun makers and eased restrictions on concealed carry permit holders in Arkansas.

Mike Huckabee has been in the heat of battle over gun rights and has proven himself to be a steadfast friend to gun owners and the Second Amendment.

OK, Nutz, but where does he stand on other issues? I've read and heard reports where he's got a crappy Tax record, and has stood up for illegals. I'm all for supporting a pro-gun agenda, but not necessarily exclusively. There are other issues at stake, here, too, and a guy who'll make excuses for illegals isn't high on my list.

I'm still leaning toward Fred Thompson, maybe moreso since he got so chesty on last night's debate. I like him and his positions, and I think he's more consistently and across-the-board dependable than I'm hearing about Huckabee.

Check the facts; Fred Thompson has sold us out on the second amendment just as the following RINO's have...
    Rudy Giuliani
    Mitt Romney
    John McCain
    Ron Paul
    Tom Tancredo (withdrew).

A vote for any of the aforementioned second amendment sell-outs is a VOTE FOR GUN CONTROL.

Don't take my word for it; there is a reason why these RINO'S have less then a A rating from the NRA & the GOA in 2007... Research it for yourself...
    THEY SOLD US OUT!

What are Mike Huckabee's other positions on the other issues & policies?:
    http://www.mikehuckabee.com/?FuseAction=Issues.Home

FACT: Fred Thompson is a RINO (Republican in name only)

FACT: Fred Thompson has been out of politics over 5 years...

FACT: Fred Thompson has no executive experience.

FACT: Fred Thompson has sold America out on the second amendment many times, while hypocritically claiming to support it...

There is only ONE canidate whom has a perfect record supporting the second amendment; and as of 2007 has the highest combined rating of the NRA A+ and the GOA A- (the two biggest pro-gun lobbyists in the country if not the world) then ANY other canidate running for President; further, is the only canidate running for President with a CCW and the first Governor in the United States with a CCW; that Presidential canidate my friends is 4 term Governor Mike Huckabee!

    http://www.nra.com/

A vote for Fred Thompson is a vote for underhanded gun-control...

You know a canidate is desperate when they start attacking the GUY IN FRONT!

Mike Huckabee is not to religious in my opinion...
"The First Amendment requires that expressions of faith be neither prohibited nor preferred. We should not banish religion from the public square, but should guarantee access to all voices and views. We should share and debate our faith, but never seek to impose it. When discussing faith and politics, we should honor the "candid" in candidate - I have much more respect for an honest atheist than a disingenuous believer." - Mike Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee has a excellent immigration record contrary to the Thompson, Romney and Paul attack ads saying different:
"I will take our country back for those who belong here and those who are willing to play by the rules for the privilege to come here. No open borders, no amnesty, no sanctuary, no false Social Security numbers, no driver's licenses for illegals." - Mike Hucakbee

The facts about the false, misleading and baseless attacks on Mike Huckabee's tax, immigration, parole and other records by Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, and Fred Thompson & others (includes applicable official document links to Arkansas Legislature and supreme court):

"Its time we gave the Second Amendment the same attention we give the First Amendment" - Mike Huckabee.

Without the Second Amendment, all others have no meaning...

While all the Democrats have promised entitlements to all, raise taxes, drivers licenses for illegals, and have a record of supporting and or instituting gun-control (THEIR VERSION OF CHANGE); and all the Republicans except Mike Huckabee would cut a tax or two; Mike Huckabee would ABOLISH THE IRS! utilzing the M.I.T., Harvard, Yale and Stanford engineered fair tax initiative; Educate yourself on the fair tax:
    http://www.fairtax.org/

Read the FairTax Book by Neal Boortz & Congressmen John Linder.

The Fair Tax Initiative is the only way to get the Washington Lobbyists, Princes of Saudi Arabia, the Rich, the illegals, the drug dealers and others subverting the current tax system to pay their fair share instead of passing the burden onto the honest hard-working middle and low income law-abiding Americans...
The fair tax initiative is also an incentive for illegals to come forward or immigrate legally as if you are not a legal U.S. citizen you are not eligible for the FairTax pre-bate; for more info...
    http://www.fairtax.org/

"Americans are more afraid of an IRS Audit then being mugged and there is a reason why..." - Mike Huckabee.

In researching whom I would personally support for President, I found Mike Huckabee to be the most Authentic, Consistent, Compassionate and Experienced canidate running from any party.

I am a U.S. born citizen, a life-long Republican, a USMC Veteran, a member of the NRA, GOA and SAF and I VOTE; and I am voting HUCKABEE!

    Simply,

I am more afraid each day that the Republicans are going to lose due to lack of reality on our part. My only true hope this last couple of weeks is that the Dems will put Clinton and Obama on the same ticket.

I mentioned earlier, and still believe, that a Thompson-Huckabee ticket might be the most sane thing we could do. Also, I think the campaign procees has gotten out of hand. The voters are going to be more exhausted than the candidates and maybe even the pollsters by the time November rolls around.

I suspect the race has gotten too fractured to be coherent to the average voter.
    Reality, DEAL with IT!

    Hillary "Billary, Gun Ban" Clinton?
    Barack "Hussein, Gun Ban" Obama?

    Fred "Second Amendment Sell-Out" Thompson?

    Are you on crack?

You must be on the wrong forum; the uber liberal, left-wing nut job, flip-flopping, waffling gun grabbers forum is at:

The only canidate worthy of being on the same ticket with Mike Huckabee is Duncan Hunter!

    Am I on crack?

    No, are you?

I think you're not bothering to actually read and ponder what is written.

Regardless of your motivation though, we are each entitled to our opinion and mine is right there.

When we get to November we can look back and see who has egg on their face and who is smiling. I'm a man, I'll admit it if Huckabee somehow proves to be electable. Obviously though, you'll be writing him in if he doesn't get the nod. I believe in principles but not wasting my vote.

My Democrat and Euro friends are smug that THEY will win even if they run a couple of farm animals. I am hoping they are wrong and am down on a few bets about the outcome of a Clinton-Obama ticket or either of them heading a ticket with someone else under them. My fear remains that the Republicans will spend too long on the infighting and convince the voters that we cannot be trusted to come together and deal with the world situation from a position of consensus. That decision and the resulting apathy of a large number of voters might let any Dem ticket win a shot for a couple of terms.
    Reality, DEAL with IT!
