Thread: Who do you like for President in 2008?

  1. One good thing about being over in Iraq is that I am not bombarded with all the campaign adds. I get enough info here on the net to know how I want to vote, with out all the blah, blah, blah.
["Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!"

  3. None of the above!

This is the first time that I can remember that there was no one that I could support for president. It seem our only choice is which liberal do we want to vote for this election. Sad day for this country.

Thumbs up Huckabee...He's The Real Deal

I will save you all some time on who the best Second Amendment Candidate is and who has always been this time around...

Mike Huckabee is the only candidate running from any party with a perfect second amendment support record. Moreover, Mike Huckabee has the highest combined rating from the NRA A+ and the GOA A- of any canidate running from any party. Further the NRA & GOA are the two biggest pro-gun lobbyists in the country if not the world.
Additionally, Mike Huckabee is the only canidate running from any party for President that has a CCW; and was the first Governor in the United States to have a CCW.

    http://www.nra.com/

"Its time we started giving the second amendment the same attention we give the first amendment" - Mike Huckabee

What democrats running for president have a proven record of selling us out on the second amendment?
    ALL OF THEM.

What republicans running for president have a proven record of selling us out on the second amendment (while hypocritically claiming to support it)?
    Mitt Romney
    Fred Thompson (withdrew)
    John McCain
    Rudy Giuliani
    Ron Paul
    Tom Tancredo (withdrew)

Whose been a member of the NRA the the longest of any canidate? Mike Huckabee - over 4 decades, the shortest? Second Amendment Sell-Out Mitt Romney - August 2006 just months before announcing he was running for president...

Check for yourself... and see whose spinning and whose NOT!

    http://www.nra.com/

Here are a few more bonuses...

Mike Huckabee is rated "Excellent" by Roy Beck & NumbersUSA and the Citizens for Better Immigration Reform...

Mike Huckabee is the only candidate running from any party that has signed a "No Amnesty Pledge":
“Every candidate claims to oppose amnesty, but few define amnesty the way most Americans do,” Beck said. “I applaud Gov. Huckabee for defining amnesty correctly, and for pledging to fully enforce laws that would take away the jobs and benefits magnets that draw illegal aliens here – and that keep them here.
    Roy Beck
    http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/0...ssrelease.html

See the actual document Mike Huckabee signed on camera in front of Roy Beck and the world:

Read Mike Huckabee's Secure America Plan
A 9-Point Strategy for Immigration Enforcement and Border Security:

While all the democrats have promised to raise taxes and entitlements for all (tax & spend the democrat way and their version of CHANGE); and all the republicans except Mike Huckabee have promised to cut a tax or two; Mike Huckabee would ABOLISH THE IRS! utilizing the M.I.T., Harvard, Yale and Stanford engineered Fair Tax Initiative; educate yourself on the Fair Tax Initiative:
    http://www.fairtax.org/

Read the Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz & Congressman John Linder.

Who is the only canidate running for President that has actually faced the Clinton Political Machine and defeated it?
Only Mike Huckabee has faced the Clinton Political Machine and defeated them soundly every time, 4 times in all.

Regarding the foreign policy experience of Governor Mike Huckabee, whom has actually been to 41 countries and dealt with their governments...And those whom would doubt the foreign policy experience of the only multi-term Governor running for President from any party; I would ask that you to go back to 1980 and look at Ronald Reagan, whom everybody seems to want to be like these days...When Ronald Reagan ran for President in 1980 he had absolutely no substantive foreign policy experience! Yes Ronald Reagan did some great things, but lets not forget that he also sold us out on amnesty, the second amendment and the stinking free trade agreements! I myself do not want that kind of politician BACK!...check out http://www.mikehuckabee.com...

No Senator has been elected president since JFK,
No Representative has been elected president since James Garfield (before 1900),
No Mayor has ever been elected president...

There is a reason why 4 out the last 5 presidents have been governors, experience counts! the office of the president of the united states is not a on the job training position...

Governor Mike Huckabee has more executive experience actually running a government then any canidate running from any party...

    Where do we stand?
Governor Mike Huckabee currently is second in the delegate race, with 40 pledged for
his campaign. Governor Mitt Romney has 59 delegates, and Senator John McCain
    has 36.

Duncan Hunter - recently withdrew and endorsed Mike Huckabee, most if not all of Duncan's delegates have gone to Mike Huckabee (not included in the previous 40)... As part of the grassroots for Huckabee, we are hoping that when Mike Huckabee gets the nomination that he asks Duncan Hunter to be his running mate, they complement each other very well...

Well, if I were a one-issue voter, I might agree with you. All in all, we could do worse. At the same time, we could also do better. Without buying into either your information or the info below, I offer the following as counterpoint to your post. Nothing against Huckabee, but there's another opinion which deserves airing. While translating all these links to work here is more than I want to tackle, you can find them all right HERE, under the banner Mike Huckabee is a Pro-life Liberal. Some one did some homework and it's quite interesting.

Ektarr...Unfortunately, the links you provide are out of context spin... I will reiterate, if you take an open-minded, in-depth look at the links that I provided, you will find Mike Huckabee to be the real deal...respectfully, unlike the links you provided, my links contain links to the applicable primary sources such as the supreme court, the Arkansas legislature etc...
I welcome the opportunity to clarify any position and or concern you or anybody else has about Governor Mike Huckabee...
As I have spent much of the last year watching and documenting all the debates from both parties and doing my own research and not stopping until I actually found the original primary source citation and facts on any controversial matter; and not just accepting what some other canidates blog or liberal leaning media post or out of context quote spins...

Moreover, as my post clearly indicates, I am not a one-issue person either, BUT, if you have ever sold us out on the second amendment, forget about it...without support for the second amendment, no other issues have any meaning or merit...

The only canidate running from any party that has a perfect second amendment support record is in fact the only CCW packing, successful multi-term Governor Mike Huckabee...

Angry Berkeley, California to the US Marine Corps: "You're Not Welcome!"

This is what is happening in the State of the Governor (Schwarzenegger) who endorsed John McCain today. This is why I will not vote for McCain. He will accept an endorsement from just about anybody (the NY Times, boot heel lickers like Rudy Giuliani, Code Pink, etc.). Each time he accepts those endorsements without denouncing the activities taking place within his endorsers State or organization, i.e. NY Times and General Petraeus, Governor Schwarzenegger and Berkley , in my opinion McCain is in the closet and secretly endorsing these left-wing atrocities when he accepts those endorsements.

It saddens me dearly that Marines (my brothers and sisters) have fought and will continue to fight for the rights that give jack-booted left wing misfit thug organizations like this a a voice.... this is absolutely atrocious and a very sad day in America.

McCain is not a Conservative he is a Liberal Conformist! Honestly, I have been a Conservative Republican all of my adult life but I would rather cast a vote for Hillary than McCain!

Berkeley to Marine Corps: You're Not Welcome!
    Thursday, January 31, 2008

BERKELEY, Calif. Local officials in this liberal city say it's time for the U.S. Marines to move out.
The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and "if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests."

The measure passed this week by a vote of 8-1.
The council also voted to explore enforcing a city anti-discrimination law, focusing on the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

In a separate item, the council voted, also 8-1, to give protest group Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week. Marine Capt. Richard Lund of the recruiting office declined comment on the council action.

The recruiting office opened in Berkeley about a year ago, operating quietly until about four months ago when Code Pink began regular sidewalk protests.

"I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don't belong here, they shouldn't have come here, and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates.

Code Pink is circulating petitions to get a measure on the ballot in November making it more difficult to open military recruiting offices in Berkeley if they are near homes, parks, schools, churches, libraries or health clinics.

Some employees and business owners aren't happy with the weekly protests.

"My husband's business is right upstairs, and this (protesting) is bordering on harassment," Dori Schmidt told the council. "I hope this stops."

I really hope the rest of the pro-gun community wakes up and looks at the track records of gun-grabbing flip-flopping, waffle-man Slick Willard Mitt Romney and John Amnesty McCain...

Bohemian, I don't disrespect your choosing Huck as your man. And I don't want to monopolize this forum with a debate between you and I. But when I say I have issues with him, I really mean it...there isn't one of these candidates, Huckabee included, who is what he appears to be and I'm at a loss as to who to vote for. For your reading pleasure, check out this site, which MAY be complete and in-depth and well-enough documented that you'll give it some credit.

After that, let's let it go...I'll let you know who I voted for Tuesday, on Tuesday night. It may be that much of a last-minute decision.

I agree that we do not have a real choice that thinks like we do. There is too "darn" much trying not offend anyone goinig on. Build the walls on the borders, send the illegals back, get them off my social security, and let's get down to being Americans again. Oh, send Hillary with them.
If you think you are in a fair fight, you need to rethink your tactics.

I heard that the people in Arkansas voted for Bill for president to get them out of Arkansas. Why did the people of New York take then with such open arms???
