Thread: Donald Trump Speech in Gettysburg, PA

  1. Definitely agree that he isn't stupid. His problem is lack of discipline and hypersensitivity.

Those who actually listened today may have noticed a couple of things, such as we are going to pay for the wall and then ask Mexico to reimburse us. This is the first time Trump has mentioned this since he announced running for President on June 16, 2015.

As usual, he said that he will repeal and replace ObamaCare, but he hasn't said with what. He also wants to propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress, but doesn't say how he plans to accomplish passing it. He plans a lot of spending and tax cuts, by the way.

A few clarifications today should have been made very early on in the champaign to avoid some of the numerous controversies, such as "suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur". It Trump would have use this wording, instead of "ban all muslims", there would have been no controversy about this and Hillary would have had a tough time to defend her position on Syrian refugees.

The "details" are here for anyone to read: 100-Day Plan To Make America Great Again. This is too little, too late. It all was preceded by yet another stupid series of comments that now lead the headlines: Donald Trump vows to sue his accusers, lashes out at media. This guy simply can't stay on message.

I will admit that Trump is not the one I would personally like to see as president but, given the alternative, he is a saint in the making. There is a lot of arm chair quarterbacking of Trump, questioning the manner in which he proposes to bring the country back under our control, immigration, taxes, and a myriad of other problems we have in the country today. Too little, too late? I don't think so. You have to start somewhere in recovering from the last eight years and electing Hillary would not cause recovery but instead, be a continuation of the failed Obama policies. Hillary is part of the problems facing us today and, if we had a true and unbiased legal system, she would have already been charged and prosecuted under 18, U.S. Code, Chapter 115, Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities. It is total insanity to even consider her for an office, especially when her activities preclude her even being considered. But that is of little consequence to the Democrats.

Trump has exposed our politicians and the parties for their ineptitude and they are now running around in fear. He has shown the Republican party to be a joke with absolutely no unity or respect for their own members. The Democrats, as much as I hate to admit it, are a treacherous bunch but they are unified in their activities to ruin the country. Whether Trump will be our political savior is questionable but the alternative, Hillary as president, would most certainly be our downfall.

I think the results of this election will show just exactly what kind of people we are. God help us!

The only thing Trump managed to achieve is to make Hillary look like a viable alternative to him. As I said it many times in this forum, any other Republican candidate would have wiped the floor with Hillary by now. This has nothing to do with armchair quarterbacking, but more to do with common sense. Trump just can't help himself to defeat common sense and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Look back at Trumps campaign and you will see that this has been a disaster from the beginning.

With too little, too late, I meant that this type of plan and communicating it to the voters should have been done starting with the RNC convention. Instead, Trump went after veterans, Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, a former Miss Universe, more Congressional Republicans, and threatened to sue his sexual assault accusers after the election and fueled conspiracy theories. Trump is a poster boy for how not to run a Presidential campaign, even refusing to do self-opposition research. A true "pied piper" candidate.

Trump has exposed his own ineptitude and Republicans that want to stay in office are running away from him like a crowd from a suicide bomber. The only thing that Trump has achieved is to split the Republican party and to unite the Democratic party. That's not how any Republican candidate could win an election. However, that's how a highly unqualified Democrat could. When Trump loses, many will look back at his campaign and wonder if Trump wasn't a Democrat plant.

I think the election theater to date already has. The next POTUS will have the lowest approval rating in the history of the US on the day he/she is sworn in. The country is divided more than ever before.

This election is not about the personalities of the two blockheads running. It's about the 2nd Amendment, the Supreme Court, and the economy. How much are you willing to give up you current freedoms, and be under a Socialist system. You know the first colony of Jamestown in America was run under a Socialist system of Government, and 2/3 of the people die and the colony was over in less than 2 years. Check your history. Hillary's Socialist Government that she has longed for most of her life is not new. It has been tried many, many times through-out history. It has always ended in gun confiscation, bloodshed, death, and war.

I am not sure who you are addressing with with your post. Realize that it is about the voters in the middle that don't care much about the issues you care about. Those voters decide the election. Trump has successfully managed to piss off most of these voters. That's the only reason Trump is losing. You can't win an election by insulting almost everyone that is supposed to vote for you. You can't win an election with just the votes of your party's base.

    Howdy,

The Donald is going to lose by a landslide so his speech was pointless.

For the GOP to win the White House they must have their entire base vote for their candidate and in 2012 the true Evangelical Christians stayed home. This will happen again in 2016.

The Donald has gained a few new supporters in the form of hard core racist that as adults in their 40's, 50's and 60's that have NEVER voted before will vote for him because of the racist and woman hating perverted remarks he has made.

What about the millions that came out for Trump in the primaries that have never voted before?
