Seeing and growing up in a cultural experience are not the same thing.

His Manifesto was published in 1848, when he was about 30 years old.

When I was in USMC officer boot camp at Quantico, the senior drill instructor was Roman Catholic and a very religious tough guy. He constantly reminded us that Jesus and also the Virgin Mary were watching us constantly and that if we ever fokked up they would see it too and it was fundamentally wrong to fokk up in front of Jesus and the Virgin Mary.

Naturally fokking up like this in front of them was cause for us to do more pushups until Virginia started slipping deeper into the Potomac River.
That seems to be in character for Marine Drill Sergeants but not necessarily what I would consider adherence to religion.

    When resistance crosses the line

We've seen peaceful supporters of President Donald Trump being verbally attacked, physically beaten, hair set on fire, and demonized by the news media, all the while the perpetrators of such violence are labeling the victims as haters, extremists, and fascists. When does resistance cross the line and become treason or sedition? The Constitution guarantees the right to free speech and peaceful assembly. But historically, the Founders were very wary of those elements in society that were trying to tear down the Republic or overthrow the government. They would not have accepted contemporary political norms of communism, socialism, and Islamism somehow coexisting with the Republic. Article I Section 8.15 of the Constitution says Congress shall have the power "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions." Article 3 Section 1.1 defines treason as, "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." Section 4 states: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."

In his 1796 farewell speech, George Washington warned that parties and factions were a danger to Liberty, "They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests." This is exactly what is happening today-an artful minority attempting to impose its will against the people.

So when does it go too far? I would suggest that the answer is found in the very mission statements of the groups instigating this nationwide rebellion. Communist Party USA, Islamic Society of North America, Council on American Islamic Relations, Moveon.org, Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, National Education Association, and the factions that work with them-all contain language, subtle or direct, that is against the Constitutional Republic form of government. Just as they spew the very hate they accuse others of doing, their brand of "patriotism" is of a similar nature against our guarantees of liberty. It has already gone too far. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:16, "You shall know them by their fruits."

The culture of hate threatens our liberty

Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren was told to sit down and shut up by the male-dominated Senate when she was reading a 1986 letter from Coretta Scott King opposing the nomination of Jeff Sessions for a federal judgeship. That's how the Democratic Party and the mainstream news media are propagandizing the late-night moment. In reality, Warren, who is a known liar from her days falsely claiming she was part American Indian to get a job at Harvard, was railing against Sessions with personal attacks while reading the letter when the Senate voted to break her visceral filibuster, using Rule 19 that prohibits senators from impugning each other. Now you are seeing fake news at its best.

The communist/anarchist propaganda machine fueled by the Democrats and a willing media are crying foul. Warren's words play the female victim of bigotry and chauvinism card: "I literally can't be recognized on the floor of the Senate. I have become a nonperson during the discussion of Jeff Sessions...They can shut me up, but they can't change the truth" Majority leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky, explained, "She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted." And those are the sound bites that the fake news machine are using to say that because Warren is female and opposes Sessions, the GOP is discriminating against her for reading a letter that other senators also quoted from. Truth is, the other senators were not personally impugning Sessions while reading the letter. Sessions was later approved by a 52-47 vote.

The incident prompted Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fl, to respond, "I want people to think about our politics here today in America. Because I don't know of a single nation in the history of the world that has been able to solve its problems when half the people in a country absolutely hate the other half of people in that country. Turn on the news and watch these parliaments around the world where people throw chairs at each other, and punches, and ask yourself, how does that make you feel about those countries? It doesn't give you a lot of confidence about those countries. Now I'm not arguing that we're anywhere near that, but we're flirting with it. We're flirting with it in Congress and we are flirting with it in this country.,,

"We have become a society incapable of having debates anymore. No one ever stops to say, 'I think you're wrong, I understand your point of view, I get it, you have some valid points, but let me tell you why I think my view is better.' I don't hear that anymore. We are reaching a point in this republic where we're not going to be able to solve the simplest of issues because everyone is putting themselves in a corner where everyone hates everybody." Rubio said that if you disagree, you are immediately characterized as a bigot, racist, or whatever. Rubio is right. We need to find a way to disagree without being disagreeable. He also said it well. As Philippians 2:3 says, "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem the other better than themselves." It is the missing link to civilized discourse.

My USMC D/I was one of the most devout Catholics I have ever met. I am forever proud of him. He was like a father to me even more so than my own father. My own father was distant and introverted. And he got really pissed off when I joined the USMC instead of going to West Point. Whereas my D/I was intensely involved and determined to make me into a great Marine -- a minister of death praying for war.

There are many places where St. Paul (a Catholic Saint) is in direct conflict with the other 12 apostles.

In these cases I believe you need to defer to the other 12 and give St. Paul a rest.

Is that your definition of a great Marine?
