Then when they find an AK out after curfew they can slap it on the wrist and send it home to mommy. I better go check on my rifles and handguns and make sure they aren't out wandering the streets and causing hate and discontent.

When a ban on AWBs doesn't work, they'll want more, and stricter bans on other/all guns.

They really couldn't care less about crime or even about the "assault weapons" themselves. The whole crux about gun control is CONTROL! They want to control the citizens' ability to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.

England has banned nearly ALL guns and they STILL are seeing murders. But now the crimes are much more blatant, because the criminals don't fear getting shot by a law-abiding citizen.

England is is now seeing a dramatic rise in murders with KNIVES. So they currently regulate the sale of ALL knives and are also proposing a ban on sharp pointy knives.

I recently got this email from a good friend of mine.

You guys can’t read this very well because I had to shrink the picture, but apparently this picture was taken somewhere in the United Kingdom. Disgustingly, here is what it says:

Sale of Knives and Bladed Articles
The sale of these products is governed by the Offensive Weapons Act 1996
(as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006).
It is a criminal offense to sell these products to any person
under the age of 18 years.

In case you hadn't noticed… these are silverware sets containing butter knives.

It is now ILLEGAL in the U.K. for anyone under 18 years of age to purchase and in most instances posses a butter knife.

Anyone who uses a semiauto AK-47 or AR-15 rifle in a murder is an idiot, because they made a poor choice of a murder weapon. They could just as easily do the same job with a common hunting rifle - and they could probably aim better with it, anyway.

Yes indeed, and no thanks to any of our friends here, who voted Mr. Obama in, and any of the Democrats that now control Congress. It's almost comical how left wingers shoot themselves in the foot by lock step voting, and complain when their candidate attacks lawful gun rights.

We all know that it's never, ever about crime control. Gun control is a means to disarm us. In addition, if things do not turn around in the 2010 mid term elections, ( read, vote Republican, OK, carefully)expect a socialist state, or as close to European socialism as we have ever been.

My barber supported Hillary Clinton, telling me that we would get two for one. He is a life long Democrat voter, and did not support Mr. Obama. When I asked why not, he replied in a almost wisper so others in the shop would not hear'because he is a frigging socialist!" My barber is correct!

I'm not sure what the unsolved murder rate is in the US but it's not one to be proud of making me think Biden could really do something useful by allowing LE some resources to track criminals and force them to work on a national versus local level. I'd say LE has more to fear from politicians who don't expect existing laws to be enforced or who go soft on criminal punishment than assault weapons. The myth of the West being wild because everyone had a gun seems to be one LE has been sold by idiots like Biden.

These idiots don't even use the sights. why would they aim? they aren't trained gun enthusiasts, upholding their second amendment duty. They are idiot f^&*ing gangbangers that just pull the trigger and don't give a sh!t about who else they hit as long as they pour enough ammo in the direction to get what they wanted. They couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a "03 and a scope.
These are the same idiots who buy a DE .50AE to shoot a skinny little gangbanger and drop two magazines full and only graze his target once.

    Angry oh, wait...

i thought jwtollette said they would not be coming after the guns because they would be too busy trying to solve all the stuff that bush started. there wrer several on this board who thought obama was going to be such a great leader. he has so far in his first week, signed a order to fund the murder of babies and release terriorists. and like the carpenters used to sing, we've only just begun. and i will say it again. CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA ON A SUCCESSFUL SUICIDE.

Like many they listened to the campaign rhetoric rather than examine past voting records. It's a shame that many still fall for promises made by those running for a political position. It's very easy today to research politicians positions and how they voted. There's no excuse not to do so.

    For the record...

"My first priority will be to reinstate the assault weapons ban as soon as I take office. Within 90 days, we will go back after kitchen table dealers, and work to end the gun show and internet sales loopholes. In the first year, I intend to work with Congress on a national no carry law, 1 gun a month purchase limits, and bans on all semi-automatic guns."
--Barack Obama, VPC Fund Raiser, 2007

Combine that with the proposed "Cop Killer ammunition" ban:

Banning any ammunition that will penetrate a (1970's era) Class I bullet proof vest, which is anything ballistically more powerful than a .380 pistol round.
In other words the ammo ban will ban ALL 9mm, .40, .45, .357, etc, and ALL rifle ammunition.

When ammunition is outlawed, only outlaws will have ammunition.
