Thread: Signs of the End of the World As We Know It

One man's taunting is another man's brutal honesty. His State department gets paid to manufacture diplomatic style points. Trump is all about function over form. Leave the subtle nuances to the professionals.

All this "being presidential" nonsense has gotten us here and the reason he got elected was because of the John Kerry's we sent off to be fleeced by Iran and others. We were rubes, they were laughing at us, and Tillerson isn't going to be played like
jk, hrc, and colin powell. The only decent secretary of state in the past two administration's was condy and I wish she would have run for CinC.

I have never been convinced that any POTUS has their "finger on the button" these days. Possible but unlikely. Once hypersonic nukes are deployed by the nuclear superpowers, and just seconds away from quick strikes, I can't really get my arms around the chain of response. Reason #2,542 why DPRK can't be allowed to terrorize the globe. Not happening.

How do you know that the men God used to write His words didn't know where the sun went at night?

Why is it so important, one way or the other?

I guess it must matter to you since you bring it up all the time. So, if each and every book of the Bible clearly explained our solar system and its workings ("where the sun went at night") in accordance with today's knowledge, you would change your opinion of the Bible? Or is it just a catchy slogan you use in an attempt to disparage the Bible?

Do you think that everyone today who refers to "last night's gorgeous sunset" or "I'm up every morning at sunrise" doesn't "know where the sun went at night"? Can we trust any publication of the daily sunrise and sunset times? Perhaps they don't even "know where the sun went at night."

No science errors in the bible? Whoa, that's rich.

The earth is not 6000 years old, man did not evolve from a dirt clod and spit, snakes don't talk, every species cannot fit on a boat, the sun does not revolve around the earth, the sun never stopped in the sky, the universe was not created in 6 days, etc.

The earth is not 6000 years old,
The Bible doesn't give an exact age but it's probably closer to the 6,000 number than it is to any other number. If God thought it was necessary for us to know the exact "date" of Creation He would have told us; after all, He's the only eyewitness to the event. He recorded what was important to Him.

man did not evolve from a dirt clod and spit
That's right--man did not evolve, period. He made man from the dust of the earth, a being unique from all else that was living.

    snakes don't talk
Not now. After the Fall, the serpent was punished, and all of Creation suffered change as the result of Adam's sin.

every species cannot fit on a boat
Not your average boat. It was all the air-breathing animals. Also, they weren't all necessarily adult animals when they boarded.

the sun does not revolve around the earth
The Bible does not say that it does. Geocentricism is not a biblical concept.

the sun never stopped in the sky,
The Creator of the sun, moon and earth also controls those bodies. He can miraculously do whatever He wants with our solar system to achieve His will. Naturally speaking, changing the paths and schedules of the parts of our solar system would be catastrophic but supernaturally God controls all the physics of the universe.

The Son can provide all the sunlight that's needed by mankind, with or without the presence of the sun.

the universe was not created in 6 days, etc.
Yes, it was, according to the One Who created it. There is no witness that can dispute that.

    No errors.

XD: As usual, you are attempting to use science to dispute the Bible but, no matter how hard you try, it is impossible. Also, another item which may help you:

Pattern in the Bible of East to West

"There is a pattern in the Bible of astronomical symbols used as the arrival of God or His Presence. These as far as I have found always are in a direction from east to west and stopping in Israel when it is referring to an event on Earth. Two examples of this are the star of Bethlehem and the rapture at the end of the Church age. The star of Bethlehem is said in Matthew 2 to have appeared in the east and led the wise men to Bethlehem where the baby Jesus was so they could worship him. Although there are many ideas of what the star of Bethlehem actually was, it is undeniable it went in a direction from east to west. One of the best and scripturally sound explanations I have heard for the nature of the Star of Bethlehem is the "Skeninah Glory" of God the Father's Presence. This Shekinah Glory was shown as in the LORD's leading the children of Israel at night in the wilderness of in His dwelling in the holy or holies in the tabernacle and temple. At the the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for the Church at the rapture, the rapture is referred to as the Morning Star in Revelation 22, 2 and 2 Peter 1. Of course the Morning Star refers to the natural object that is a picture of this namely the planet Venus rising in the morning and going from east to west. The planet Venus as the morning star after a while becomes more and more obscured by the twilight of the soon rising sun until it is practically totally lost in the light of the rising sun when it actually does rise."

Jesus Christ's Return as the Rising Sun

This passage also indicates that the ancient people did know where the sun went at night and where it would return in the morning.

    Ecclesiastes 1:5 ESV / 61 helpful votes

The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and [B]hastens to the place where it rises."[B]

Your assertion that the sun never stopped in the sky is answered in Joshua 13. It stopped for a full day.

Here is another item I read that might help you also:

"Atheists that get offended by people that believe in a god are not true atheists. Their offense to it shows their lack of belief in there being no god. Often these false atheists will attack people's religion, as a way to boost their own egos much like a bully picks on the weak, to feel better about himself and cover up his own weakness. A real man doesn't have to bully, as he is secure in himself."

  8. I hate all this so called diplomacy. If we would have dealt with Hitler early instead of listening to Chamberlain, we could have saved millions of lives. Not only soldiers and collateral deaths from carpet bombing, but the torture and killing camps would not have been built. So, I believe in a massive first strike.

How is it possible that people can believe this nonsense. I'm sorry, I used to respect you as level headed, intelligent and sane. How does one function in day to day life in today's world while so delusional?

The better question should be, how does anyone function in day to day life in today's world without Jesus? The world is crazy upside-down (which we can see on the daily news), constantly changing and in upheaval. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. That's very reassuring in a topsy turvy environment. Christ provides us with a peace that doesn't depend on circumstances.

Honestly--is there any peace or comfort to be had from evolution, recalculations of earth's eons, climate change, death without an afterlife, or always having to go it alone? Not for me--28 years in that realm was enough for me. I'm so glad that I had the Comforter at my side when going thru the hard times in life.

    . . . and I don't even have crazy eyes.
