Trump Administration Sees High Staff Turnover
Pace of departure is three times higher than his predecessor's.

President Donald Trump is presiding over a White House with an extremely high level of staff turnover, a study finds.

The turnover rate is 34 percent, "higher than any White House in decades," according to the analysis recently completed by the Brookings Institution, a research organization.

The 34 percent turnover rate in Trump's first year is more than three times as high as President Barack Obama's during the same period and twice as high as Ronald Reagan's.

Some administration officials are concerned that their reputations will be tarnished if they work for Trump too long and, as a result, they can sometimes leave abruptly, two senior Republicans with strong connections to the West Wing and Congress tell me. Other staffers burn out rapidly. Still other Republicans don't want to serve in the Trump government at all because they consider Trump too unreliable and mercurial.

Among the White House departures: a national security adviser, a chief strategist, staff secretary, press secretary, four communications directors or acting communications directors, a deputy chief of staff, a White House speechwriter, and, in another high-profile government job, an FBI director. Some were fired, some resigned. But the result has been an unusual scramble for the exits. This lends credence to news reports of turmoil and dysfunction in the White House.

Trump and his aides are still struggling to explain the circumstances behind the ouster of staff secretary Rob Porter last week amid allegations of spousal abuse as recounted by his two ex-wives.

John Kelly, the current White House chief of staff, is under fire for questionable decisions in handling Porter's case.

"There isn't a huge appetite from many Republicans on the outside to explore job opportunities in this administration," Ryan Williams, a former spokesman for 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, told the New York Times. "While there are a lot of vacancies and usually a position in the White House is one of the most prestigious jobs in Washington, that's just not the feeling with this administration, given the turmoil and the chaos."

    A Couple of Questions:

Would you personally invest in a company that turned over 1/3 of its staff in the first year?

How would you rate a CEO and/or his staff if he consistently displays an inability to retain talented staff?

How would you feel about that same company if multiple executives were indicted and/or convicted of crimes including money laundering and severe domestic abuse would you want to work there or even be associated with the organization?

Since Trump was supposed to run the country like a business, how would businessmen rate his management inability?

Trump is not a businessman, he sees his role as the star of a reality TV show, one with poor ratings.
“Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.” ― Steven Weinberg
