My Thoughts:

This part of the article say it all; officials concluded that the accession or retention of individuals with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria — those who may require substantial medical treatment, including through medical drugs or surgery — presents considerable risk to military effectiveness and lethality.

The military shouldn’t be used as a social experiment, its main requirement is to protect our country from hostile forces period.
.
The bottom line is, these people can’t be sent on a deployment because of the various medical actions that are needed, be it surgery or post-surgery requirements and what about the various medications that they will have to take, sure couldn’t be accomplished while deployed in hostile environment overseas could it?

And what about the members of the military that would be required to fulfill these deployment requirements that the transgender’s can’t fulfill, hell there already having to deploy 8 to 12 months and then after just a few months back in the world, they are having to reengage in another deployment. These rotation problems are causing massive numbers of the military to leave the military because they just can’t take it anymore.

Agreed. It's been in the DSM* for decades. In a fit of politically correct regression, however, they changed the book so as not to offend those who look between their legs and don't believe what they see i.e. those who are sick in the head.
