Trumpís Video Message to Kim Jung Un is a Joke . . .

What makes Trump and staff think that this video is going to appeal to Kim? Itís horrible and proves just how out of touch Trump is with other cultures.

Not only will this video appeal to Kim, but to the North Korean people. Oriental people do have their pride, and Kim has been elevated in their eyes by simply meeting with Trump. This has shown the "Great Leader" to be on equal footing with the US, a country they have been taught to hate, and fear, for over 50 years. They have lived with the thought of war for so long that the thought of a peaceful and prosperous future will have tremendous appeal to them.

Whoever developed this film has a greater sense of what will appeal to them and anything that takes the threat of war away is good. By the way, in your infinite wisdom, what would Kim gain by going to war? Absolutely nothing but the complete annihilation of his country. He is a pompous azz but I don't think he is completely stupid.

Yeah, they should have had Bobby D direct it. He's so well spoken.

And your insight into Kim and the NK people comes from what?

From spending two years in Korea and working with the South Korean army.

North and south have been separated so long that they even have trouble understand their spoken language today. The SK people have lived in a totally different politically and cultural environment for generations now and to say you understand one based on the other is laughable.

XD: The only thing laughable here is you proffering an opinion on the Koreans or Orientals in general.. Maybe you should endeavor to educate yourself about them before offering anything but conjecture. But then again, you do so enjoy being a polemicist.

Fortunately I don't judge all republicans by the small sampling found here.

Granted the oriental cultures can be a proud people, but 70 years of oppression, starvation, fear of retribution for saying the wrong thing can wear that down. What years were you stationed in SK?

Granted you would have more insight into the people of SK after living/working there for two years. But to claim you understand the people of NK is laughable. It would be like someone saying they understand the people in China because they lived in China Town section of San Francisco.
