  1. Trump, Schumer, Pelosi Pursue Plan to Repeal Debt Ceiling Altogether

President Trump and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) have agreed to pursue a deal that would permanently remove the requirement that Congress repeatedly raise the debt ceiling, three people familiar with the decision said. Trump and Schumer discussed the idea Wednesday during an Oval Office meeting. The two, along with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D–Calif.), agreed to work together over the next several months to try to finalize a plan, which would need to be approved by Congress. One of the people familiar described it as a “gentlemen’s agreement.” The three people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss details of the meeting.

    ...

On Thursday, Trump was asked by a reporter at the White House about abolishing the congressional process for raising the debt ceiling. He replied that "there are lots of good reasons to do that." "It could be discussed," Trump said. "For many years, people have been talking about getting rid of [the] debt ceiling altogether." He confirmed during the exchange with reporters at the White House that the issue was discussed during his meeting with congressional leaders on Wednesday.

    ...

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has suggested scrapping the existing debt-limit process and replacing it with one that automatically lifts the borrowing limit every time Congress appropriates future spending.

That's like a credit card company raising the credit limit on a persons card, because they have maxed out the old credit limit.

The epitaph for the US will be that we crushed a once great country with the national debt.

Probably curled up in a fetal position in his basement bunker, clutching his Trump bobble head.

Want to wager he blames the results on voter fraud?

  6. Democrats taking the House is a tremendous blessing [win] for Trump.
    .
In exchange he gets his endless supply for [police state] infrastructure - he can smile for re-election in 2020 and blame his [other] party.
    .
Still not a single peep or tweet by trump about central banks, irs, declining dollar, pm manipulation, fed dept ed, bill of rights.....it is not healthy to hold ones breath.
    .
mic welfare state didn’t lose a single seat.
    .
At this point don’t even stop printing this time just let it all come tumbling down.

I've done some light reading on the election and between CA voters voting themselves into a ballot measure for automatic gas tax increases of 40%, one unopposed person being elected to a state legislature while still serving a year in jail for corruption, and a dead guy being elected, you're right we're screwed. I completely agree.

With the Democrats in the House now, it’s time for them to come up with some positive ideas now, vice all of the opposition that we’ve seen in the past.
    .
This shows you what the number one priority of the Democrats want, last night when the results came out that showed that they were going to re-take the House, a top level Democrat called MSNBC news cast live on the air and said that the Democrats in the House’s number one priority was to obtain President Trump’s tax returns, not the opioid crisis in America, or way’s to straighten the economy that is booming, or fixing the nation’s immigration problems, no all they want is to get President Trumps Tax returns.
    .
Looks like their priorities are very misaligned to me.

Incoming House Ways and Means Committee chairman will seek Trump tax returns.

Sure sounds like just noise for the MSM.
    .
So the Republicans lost the House in the midterm. And guess what... there was no rioting in the streets. Republicans weren’t threatening to leave the country. There are no plans to knit funny looking red hats and march on Washington DC.
