John Bolton LAUGHS HIMSELF TO TEARS In Response To Gillibrand’s Ignorant Defense Statement!
    .
“I don’t think we should be trying to create tactile nuclear weapons.”
    .
U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton couldn’t stop laughing at remarks made by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., during a Wednesday appearance on the “Hugh Hewitt” show.
    .
Seeking Bolton’s thoughts on recent remarks made by Gillibrand at a townhall event in New Hampshire, Hewitt played a clip of the New York Democrat criticizing the Trump administration’s plan to develop better nuclear weapons. But Gillibrand repeatedly referred to the weapons as “tactile” during the clip, causing Bolton to lose it while live on the air.
    .
“When you say you want to develop low-yield nuclear weapons that are tactile, what you’re saying is you want to use them” Gillibrand said. “Now the military will make an argument to say oh, this is just again to make, we have to have an equal threat. And this, if it’s usable, then it’s a better threat. I just found that is not believable. I just, I, they’re trying to create nuclear weapons that are usable. So I opposed the entire Defense bill because of that one provision. So if I am president, I am going to make sure we unwind that completely, and I don’t think we should be trying to create tactile nuclear weapons.”
    .
Hewitt started to ask Bolton for his thoughts but was halted after Bolton erupted into raucous laughter.
    .
    “Tactile nuclear weapons?” Bolton mocked.
    .
“Well, I was unfamiliar with the concept, Mr. Ambassador,” Hewitt replied, while Bolton continued to laugh.
    .
“What are you up to?” Hewitt asked.
    .
“I have to say, I was unfamiliar with it as well. I wonder what Senator Gillibrand knows that I don’t,” Bolton said, still laughing.
    .
“Oh, they are very worried,” Hewitt said.
    .
“I’ve been studying this stuff with, since President Nixon was in retirement in San Clemente. First time I’ve heard of tactile nuclear weapons. So what, is something going on at Andrew Marshall’s old office at the Pentagon we don’t know about?” Hewitt added.
    .
“Well, you know, Hugh, as national security advisor, I don’t get involved in politics,” Bolton replied while still giggling about the clip.
    .
“But I’ll just say maybe Senator Gillibrand could give me a call and tell me what she knows about those tactile nuclear weapons. I’d be interested in learning it,” he added, still unable to get his laughter under control.
    .
Gillibrand, who is one of the Democratic contenders for president in 2020, has been critical of the Trump administration’s plan to upgrade U.S. nuclear weapon capabilities. Trump made the decision after threatening to pull out of a Nuclear Treaty with Russia due to the Kremlin’s lack of compliance with the charter.
    .
Gillibrand joined 25 other Senate Democrats in a letter opposing Trump’s threat, calling it “dangerous” while accusing the president of starting a “nuclear arms race” with Russia.

Waiting for surgery and medical treatment
    .
With 10 out of 15 Democratic presidential contenders supporting some version of “Medicare-for-all” as of early April 2019, it’s important to separate the fuzzy myth of socialized medicine from the stark reality of a flawed system. In particular, those who extol the virtues of a Canadian-style government-run single-payer health care system need to take a look at some of its glaring shortcomings.
    .
Admittedly, despite what some pundits will tell you, Canadians do not suffer under third-world health care. But neither is it the case that our system is anything Americans should aspire to emulate. Dr. David Gratzer put it best a few years ago when he wrote, “Canada has first-rate physicians and nurses — but a second-rate health-care system.”
    .
Those who see the Canadian health care system through rose-colored glasses might start to disabuse themselves of their misconceptions by speaking to the family of Marianne Porter. The 58-year-old woman recently died of acute kidney failure after waiting 11 hours in a New Brunswick emergency room before being seen. Dr. Serge Melanson, president of the New Brunswick Medical Society and an ER doctor at the hospital in question, did not comment on the specific case, but he did lament the hospital’s ER beds being occupied by people who can’t be transferred out because of overcrowding.
    .
The numbers don’t lie. While ER wait times vary from province to province, quick access to a doctor is not the norm. The Commonwealth Fund’s 2016 international comparison of 11 wealthy countries found that almost 30 percent of Canadian patients wait four hours or more when they go to an ER, versus just 11 percent in the United States. In the 2017-2018 fiscal year, in the province of Quebec alone, 212,000 patients waited more than 24 hours in an emergency room, and 30,000 waited more than 48 hours.
    .
Canadians can also expect to wait for medically necessary treatment. In 2018, specialist physicians reported a median wait time of 19.8 weeks between a patient being referred by a general practitioner and receiving treatment from them, varying from 3.8 weeks for cancer treatment to 39.0 weeks for orthopedic surgery. That’s a whole nine months limping around on just one leg, if you have a knee problem.
    .
In all, over one million Canadians waited some amount of time for surgery and medical treatment in 2018. This has a financial cost in addition to the physical and psychological one: specifically, a total of $2.1 billion in lost wages.
    .
Canadians are also underserved when it comes to preventive screening tests. In 2017, the United States had 37.6 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) units per 1,000,000 inhabitants, versus just 10.0 in Canada. (Similar discrepancies exist for CT scanners, mammography machines, and radiotherapy equipment.) Little wonder, then, that Canadians waited an average of 10.6 weeks for an MRI.
    .
Some, though, choose not to wait, instead going abroad for the tests and treatments they need. Canadian patients made over 200,000 trips outside of the country specifically for health care in 2017, and spent $690 million on health care during those trips.
    .
None of this is to deny that the American health care system has problems, especially in terms of affordability. Health care spending as a percentage of GDP in the United States was 17 percent in 2017, far ahead of Canada’s at 10 percent, or of any other industrialized country, for that matter.
    .
All this spending of course buys excellent care for many Americans. In the Commonwealth Fund study, the United States scores highly on five-year cancer survival rates, and is ahead of the pack on 30 day in-hospital mortality rates following acute myocardial infarction or ischemic stroke, for example.
    .
But some lower-income individuals struggle to pay for care, and the United States comes in dead last on affordability in the 11-country comparison. Presumably at least partly as a result of this, it also ranks last among these countries on such measures as infant mortality, life expectancy at age 60, and mortality amenable to health care. Still, as some have observed, these numbers aren’t nearly as bad once you control for segments of the American population that have been historically subjected to severe discrimination and who still bear the scars in terms of health status.
    .
The 2010 Affordable Care Act has not solved the problem of unaffordable care. Many prominent Democrats now seem to want to go further down the socialized medicine road. But the serious defects and impediments inherent in a top-down bureaucratic health care system like Canada‘s, including the inevitable rationing and waiting lists that Canadians are forced to endure, should give Americans pause.

Democrat Eric Swalwell has entered the 2020 race for President. The guy who was ‘famous’ for threatening to use nukes on regular citizens that didn’t agree with him is now saying that the 2nd Amendment is not an “absolute right”...
    .
Is that anything like “If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor?” He seems to imply that those weapons are already in the hands of the “most dangerous people” because the law-abiding gun owners who own them are into the millions. Removing those weapons from the good guys makes them victims of the really dangerous bad guys who can get guns any time they choose...

Swalwell’s primary issues are the gun issues. He says he is running for President to “#Endgunviolence.” He also made some incorrect statements in his remarks...
    .
Where did that 73% of NRA members want background checks come from? Background checks are a Federal law that has been in place for years and doesn’t do squat for stopping “gun violence.” Many of the mass shooters have actually passed those background checks. They don’t purchase their weapons from private parties, which is what that “expanded background check” thing is from. He believes the “American people” are all on board with his radical idea... Not...

Swalwell: I Will Jail Those Who Defy My Gun Grabbing Agenda
    .
Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is running for president. He’s one of many who are hopping into the 2020 clown car. No, he probably won’t win the nomination. And yes, he would certainly lose against President Donald J. Trump. He’s also running on an issue that is only popular with the most insane of Democrats: gun confiscation.
    .
Swalwell has gone off the deep end with his absurd allegations that Donald Trump is an agent of the Kremlin. Yet, he’s been saying it for months. Even with the Mueller report torpedoing Democratic hopes of finding cause to impeach the president, the California liberal is part of the bitter clinger wing of his party on this front. Still, his views on gun control border on absurdity and for all the network’s faults, and there are many, CNN’s Jake Tapper did a good job cornering Swalwell into suggesting that he would jail gun owners should he become president of the United States. Tim Graham of Newsbusters clipped this piece of glory (via NewsBusters):
    .
TAPPER: So, gun control is the central plank in your campaign. You wrote last year -- quote -- "We should ban possession of military- style semiautomatic assault weapons. We should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law. And we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons." Criminal prosecution for keeping assault weapons. What's the punishment for people who don't hand in their guns? Do they go to jail?
    .
SWALWELL: Well, Jake, they would, but I also offer an alternative, which would be to keep them at a hunting club or a shooting range. And the reason I have proposed this is because these weapons are so devastating. I have seen this as a prosecutor in the cases that I've prosecuted. We have seen these in the school shootings, from Sandy Hook to Parkland. And I was just at Parkland earlier this week doing a town hall there.
    .
But it's not just the violence that they have caused. It's the fear, the immeasurable fear, that our children live in, because they are still on our streets. I want to get rid of that fear. I want to do what Australia did and New Zealand just recently did. I think this issue just needs some bold leadership to do it.
    .
Now, this is moderation. Swalwell considered nuking gun owners. Was he being facetious? No clue. I’d give him the benefit of the doubt, but it doesn’t negate the fact that his positions are moronic and illiberal. They’re unconstitutional and have zero chances of passing Congress. This is the equivalent of politicians promising to give everyone unicorns or something that is unattainable, maybe not even based in reality. That pretty much sums up this guy whose head is far, far into the clouds..

TOMORROW THE STAGE WILL BE SET TO TAKE YOUR GUNS!
    .
Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 17, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hear House Bill 265. HB 265, sponsored by Representative Merika Coleman (D-57),would authorize individuals to file for a “gun violence protective order” against anyone they claim is dangerous, which may be awarded by a court without any due process protections in place. Individuals subject to such orders will be forced to surrender any and all firearms in their possession. Without a doubt, HB 265 is one of the most egregious violations of civil liberties ever introduced in the Alabama Legislature. This slipshod and misguided bill would create a process that is ripe for abuse.
    .
Please TAKE ACTION to contact the member of the House Judiciary Committee urging them to OPPOSE HB 265.
    .
HB 265 would authorize an individual to file for a “gun violence protective order” against someone they believe shouldn’t have firearms. The list of those who can file for such an order includes family members, former dating partners, former roommates, as well as teachers and members of law enforcement. When compared to federal law, HB 265 provides for an expanded universe of parties who can trigger the deprivation of a law-abiding citizen’s Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, as well as his or her Fourth Amendment right to be free from improper searches and seizures.
    .
It should be noted that if an individual is truly dangerous, existing law already provides a variety of mechanisms to deal with the individual, all of which can lead to firearm prohibitions in appropriate cases. The issuance of a “gun violence protective order” does nothing to deal with the underlying causes of dangerousness, nor does it subject the person to any actual physical restraint, ongoing reporting or monitoring requirements, or treatment for an underlying mental health condition.
    .
HB 265 will also have the effect of acting as a false security blanket by leaving truly dangerous individuals free to commit violent crimes with anything at their disposal. HB 265 will only promote the denial of fundamental civil liberties, not protect public safety.

In 2013, Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden boarded Air Force Two headed for China. Ten days later, Hunter Biden's firm bagged a $1,500,000,000.00 deal with the Communist Chinese government's Bank of China. Joe Biden has yet to answer why his son's firm was doing deals with a foreign government as he was shaping U.S. foreign policy.
