‘Squad’ member Pressley pushing Kavanaugh impeachment inquiry, despite allegation concerns

Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., one of the four freshman congresswomen known collectively as the “Squad,” is planning Tuesday to introduce a resolution seeking an impeachment inquiry into Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, despite reluctance from top Democrats to pursue one and concerns about the basis for the latest accusations.

The resolution follows a New York Times report that included a new allegation of sexual misconduct from when Kavanaugh was in college -- although an editors' note later revealed that the alleged victim did not recall it taking place. In a statement, Pressley only focused on the women who came forward during Kavanaugh’s confirmation process.

“I believe Christine Blasey Ford. I believe Deborah Ramirez,” Pressley said in a statement shared by Boston.com reporter Nik DeCosta-Klipa, which Pressley retweeted from her official Twitter account. “It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors.”

Pressley also used her personal Twitter account to retweet a post that included images of what appears to be text from the resolution. It calls for “Inquiring whether the House of Representatives should impeach Brett Michael Kavanaugh, Associate Justice for the Supreme Court of the United States of America,” and for the House Judiciary Committee to conduct depositions and take affidavits, serving subpoenas if necessary.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., who heads the House Judiciary Committee, has not necessarily come out against impeaching Kavanaugh. But he made clear it was not a top priority for his committee.

“We have our hands full with impeaching the president right now,” Nadler said on a radio show Monday.

Top-ranking Sen. **** Durbin, D-Ill., outright rejected the calls.

“We’ve got to get beyond this ‘impeachment is the answer to every problem,” Durbin said, according to Politico. “It’s not realistic. If that’s how we are identified in Congress, as the impeachment Congress, we run the risk that people will feel we’re ignoring the issues that mean a lot to them as families.”

The original Times piece, adapted from a forthcoming book, asserted that a Kavanaugh classmate, Clinton-connected nonprofit CEO Max Stier, “saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a different drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his ***** into the hand of a female student.”

By late Sunday, the paper had revised its story to include the fact that several friends of the alleged victim said she told them she did not recall the reported sexual assault in question.

    My Thoughts:

Stay strong Kavanaugh we the people know you aren’t guilty of the actuations.

She is just trying to get name recognition and doesn't care who she smears to do it. She's a parasite.

Seems it doesn’t matter that the NY Times reversed their story though.

Impeachment Hearing Quickly Devolves into Chaos as Lewandowski Trolls and Refuses to Answer Questions.

A House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski fell into chaos Tuesday when Lewandowski refused to answer questions without a copy of the Mueller report.

Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler kicked off the first round of questioning in the House Democrats’ impeachment probe into President Donald Trump by asking Lewandowski if he met with the president on a specific date in 2017.

However, the White House had previously instructed Lewandowski not to speak outside of the Mueller report or disclose information about conversations he had with the president.

Instead of directly answering Nadler’s question, Lewandowski asked for a copy of the Mueller report to reference. House members then debated whether or not Nadler’s five-minute time limit on questions should be stopped while staffers procured a copy of the report.

“Once you have asked the question, the clock should start,” Ranking Member Doug Collins asserted. “He cannot be held while you and your counsel go over notes.”

When Lewandowski finally received a copy of the Mueller report, he demanded to know which page, which paragraph, and which line he could reference in relation to Nadler’s question. Lewandowski declined to answer Nadler’s further questions as well, stalling by reading the White House’s letter indicating limits on his testimony.

The hearing continued to devolve as Ranking Member Collins and Nadler debated committee procedure, ultimately leading to a roll call vote on whether or not the hearing should be adjourned entirely. The vote failed.

    Video: https://youtu.be/19uaZPWuyzA

In his opening statement, Lewandowski railed against the Trump investigations.

“It is now clear the investigation was populated by many Trump haters who had their own agenda – to try and take down a duly elected president of the United States,” he said. “As for actual collusion or conspiracy, there was none. What there has been, however, is harassment of this president from the day he won the election.”

The president was apparently watching, and tweeted: “Such a beautiful Opening Statement by Corey Lewandowski! Thank you Corey!”

Why is it the Democratic common sense gun legislation to:
Disarm everyone in a school except the criminal?
Disarm everyone in a convenient store except the criminal?
Disarm everyone in a movie theater except the criminal?
Give criminals more rights to carry a firearm than the Law Abiding?
Restrict everyone but criminals to submit to more background checks?

The only common sense gun laws are ones that allow and promote the individual to be allowed to protect themselves and the public. Common sense gun laws give the individual MORE freedom, not less.
Law enforcement is great but they can't be everywhere all the time.
Most of the time they can only show up 15 minutes later when it's too late and someone needs to call the coroner.....

Remember this, in the 2020 Presidential election; it’s a choice between socialism and liberty.

Kamala Harris plunges in two new Democratic primary polls

Two new polls released this week could spell trouble for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris.

The California senator stands at 5 percent support in Iowa in a survey commissioned by the progressive organization Focus on Rural America. That’s down 13 percentage points from her 18 percent support in the group’s previous poll, which was conducted in July.

The Iowa survey’s release came a day after an NBC News/Wall Street Journal national poll has Harris in fifth place at 5 percent. That’s down 8 points from her 13 percent showing in the July poll.

Harris saw her numbers soar in most national and early voting state polling in the weeks after her viral takedown of former Vice President Joe Biden in the first round of Democratic presidential primary debates in late June.

    My Thoughts:

Glad to hear it. I can never think of her without remembering how rude and unprofessional she was during the Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearing.

Yeah kamaho - keep pushing to impeach MY President and see how low you sink - NO ONE WANTS PRESIDENT TRUMP IMPEACHED - you freak. Or doesn't your side believe in 'polls' anymore???

Comey Engineered the Ambush of Michael Flynn

“We just decided, you know, screw it,” Comey said of the decision to approach Flynn about an interview without White House lawyers.

The evidence is compelling that both Comey and McCabe ambushed Flynn… attempting to trap him into saying something incriminating. The new book by Comey’s lackey, Josh Campbell, simply confirms the very scheme that Comey bragged about in a public forum.

Comey and McCabe plotted to take undue advantage of the first few days of “chaos” the Trump White House to bamboozle Flynn into an ambush interview. They did it under the guise of the Logan Act… which had no legal application. It was a clever pretense.

There was nothing improper about Flynn talking to the Russian Ambassador during the transition. It is a normal practice for all incoming administrations. Moreover, Flynn was not acting as a private citizen, as the Act requires.

The book admits Comey broke protocols and FBI guidelines. He did not seek approval from the White House Counsel. It’s the kind of tactic that only the unprincipled Comey would employ. “We just decided, you know, screw it,” said Comey. Yet, Campbell tries to justify such egregious abuse of power.

What’s remarkable is that the Comey-McCabe scheme failed. The two FBI agents sent to trap Flynn concluded he was not being deceptive but was telling the truth. At that point, the FBI dropped the case. It was resurrected later by Mueller’s team of unscrupulous partisans in order to pressure Flynn into saying something incriminating about Trump and the Russians. He never did, but Flynn plead guilty because he was broke and Mueller was threatening Flynn’s son.

If nothing else, Campbell’s new book makes it abundantly clear that Flynn was unfairly prosecuted. And his new lawyer, Sidney Powell, is arguing that Mueller’s prosecutors broke the law by withholding exculpatory evidence from Flynn.

    My Thoughts;

Comey is a crook and AG Barr needs to hold him accountable.

There are two things we haven’t seen at any of the 3 democratic debates so far:

An American flag and a future president.

Sad about the first, and happy about the second!

Sigh… Nancy Pelosi Thanks Illegal Aliens for Breaking the Law – Yes Really

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke for more than eight hours on the floor of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, using her prerogative as a party leader to mount a filibuster to draw attention to the cause of illegal aliens.

The House, unlike the Senate, does not actually have a filibuster rule that allows members to speak as long as they want. Only the Speaker of the House and the party leaders can hold the floor indefinitely.

Pelosi said she was taking a stand to draw attention to the plight of the so-called “Dreamers,” who are illegal aliens brought into the country as minors.

During her remarks, she hailed the “Dreamers,” whom she said had arrived in the country illegally through no fault of their own.

She then went on to thank the parents of the “Dreamers” — i.e. those who deliberately broke the law.

“I say to their parents: Thank you for bringing these Dreamers to America. We’re in your debt for the courage it took, for you to take the risk, physically, politically, in every way, to do so,” she said.

Democrats actually failed to pass any legislation on immigration when Pelosi was Speaker, though her party controlled both Capitol Hill and the White House from 2009 to 2011.

President Barack Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012, using — or abusing — his executive powers of prosecutorial discretion on a massive scale to shield some 700,000 applicants from deportation.

Pelosi declared Wednesday that she would speak until Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) promised a vote on legislation to protect the “Dreamers” — something he has already promised to do, at least with regard to Republican legislation on the issue.

Just last month, President Donald Trump offered a deal that included a “path to citizenship” for all of the estimated 1.8 million “Dreamers,” including those who did not register for DACA. But Democrats rejected that deal over Trump’s demand for a border wall, plus an end to chain migration and the diversity visa lottery.

Nadler in his own words in 1998 on the release of Kenneth Starr Report on Bill Clinton

Charlie Rose: New York City and a Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee. Congressman Nadler, thank you for joining us. Rep.

    Jerrold Nadler (D-NY): It’s a pleasure.
Charlie Rose: Tell me where we– about this day and a sense of what it was like to be in the House and the anticipation of this arriving and where we go from here. Rep.

Jerrold Nadler: Well, we were just– the House was just reassembling today. We haven’t been in session for a month, so people were just arriving. I just got here in mid-afternoon, after having a series of meetings in New York. But we did get the report, which is now in the hands of the sergeant-at-arms under armed guard. It’s 36 boxes. We’re told it’s two copies, so it means 18 boxes per copy. There is, I gather, a 400- or 500-page report and the balance is appendices and supporting materials. Now, Mr. Starr in his transmittal letter to the speaker and the minority leader made it clear that much of this material is Federal Rule 6(e) material, that is material that by law, unless contravened by a vote of the House, must be kept secret. It’s grand jury material. It represents statements which may or may not be true by various witnesses, salacious material, all kinds of material that it would be unfair to release. So, I assume what’s going to have to happen before anything else happens is that somebody — the staff of the Judiciary Committee, perhaps the chairman and ranking minority member — is going to have to go over this material, at least the 400 or 500 pages in the report to determine what is fit for release and what is, as a matter of decency and protecting people’s privacy rights, people who may be totally innocent third parties, what must not be released at all. Now, the House Rules Committee will be meeting overnight, and I presume that we will vote tomorrow probably on a recommended rule as to how to handle the report.

    Read more & watch Nadler’s statement: https://saraacarter.com/rep-jerry-nadler-in-his-own-words-in-1998-on-the-release-of-kenneth-starr-report-on-bill-clinton/?utm_source=izooto&utm_medium=push_notifications&u tm_campaign=nadler&utm_content=&utm_term=

    My Thoughts:

So what’s the difference between the circumstances between the Clinton and Trump investigations, with Clinton you don't want any info to be released, but with Trump you want all of the info to be released. Hey Nadler, you POS, you can’t have it both ways, just because it’s a different political Party.
