And that is pretty telling to me.

The guy in NH was not in a prohibited zone. He was carrying in accordance with the law. Apparently most TH's are not in prohibited venues or gun-free zones. I see no reason I cannot walk up to my Mayor, Councilman, Governor, Senator or Representative while I am legally carrying.

If POTUS wants to prohibit firearms within his location or a certain zone, I'm free to decide he's not worth my time or effort to support.

As I said before, if Obama wants some respect, he should come to a gun show or IDPA/IPSC event and hang out with a group of his constituents to try a little small grop interaction.

It would increase my respect for him even if it didn't make me favor his administration.
    Reality, DEAL with IT!

Why would you threaten an elected official who is bending to the will of the MAJORITY of the people At this juncture he ought to just say "hey apparently the polls were wrong and the 'crisis' is just a small problem that the public will just have to deal with. But then pigs would fly out of my butt, and cars would run on water.

P.S. I carried to all three TEA parties I attended(concealed), and not once did my pistola want to jump out of it's holster or cause any sort of mischief. But then I live in Texas, and except for the open carry thing, our politicians are for the most part gun friendly.
I open carried at ours and no Leo said anything only one anti gun rep freaked at me everyone else was cool.

So, I wonder what would happen in a state like NH or Idaho if 30-40 people showed up open-carrying at a public site where Obama was speaing?

Would they be treated differently if the speaker was Fred Thompson, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee?

What about if they were CC?

Do any politicians have the courage to publicly throw open a TH to those who are exercising their 2A rights/freedoms?
side note... Governor Mike Huckabee does have a CCW...

Anybody remember "W" Bush's joke about Senator Jim Webb providing tonight's security... ?

When it comes to the safety of the POTUS, I feel no one (outside of federal security) should be allowed to carry in his presence in a public setting.

The potential effect of his/her being attacked or killed would sink this nation for years to come and I feel the overwhelming history of this country when it comes to the Executive Branch is enough to justify this rule.

You can't carry into a airport, or on most of the federal properties so why would there be a problem with attending a event where the POTUS or the VPOTUS is and not allowing personal protection?
(I am assuming security screening would be in effect)

Not to make anyone mad or to rile anyone, just how "I" feel.

When we start allowing exceptions, compromises, and concessions on a unalienable, pre-existing fundamental right re-affirmed by the Constitution and Second Amendment, we set ourselves down a slippery slope...

Ask the now disarmed subjects of England, Australia, Canada, India, China, and elsewhere how those compromises, and concessions are working out for them...

You can't ban baseball bats, canes, walking sticks, because somebody might use one to bash somebody's head in...

I have said it before and I will say it again...

The Second Amendment reaffirms a pre-existing unalienable right...

Further, it does not state "Shall Not Be Infringed" except...
IF your zip code is x, you happen to be standing/sitting at y, the type or class of firearm or weapon you have or desire to have is z or if said weapon is concealed or openly carried...

    The Second Amendment is non-negotiable...

    Amen Bohemian!

I don't feel we should have to negotiate our rights. If we have to negotiate our 2A then we should be able to do the same when it comes time to pay our taxes. I'm sorry; DON'T ever give in to "shall not be infringed except... It goes back to the old saying "if you give a mouse a cookie...hes going to want a glass of milk". We give an inch, they want a mile. **** this is OUR country...our RIGHT....start writing your legislators. We need change. There is no reason we have to negotiate. We jump through enough hoops as it is.

We need to do something....don't just sit back...get involved....write, call, email.....do whatever you can to get your legislators to understand you want change.

Not one comment on us racist white people losing our Christian country? Sorry, I don't dislike him because he's black, I dislike him because he's a socialist hell bent on destroying the ideals of my heritage. Oh, wait a minute, calling him a socialist is a racial slur. Sorry.

+1. I dislike Marxists no matter what color they are.
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith Heb.11:7
