So how would this work, if passed. Say a CCW holder comes to Illinois (where there is ZERO CCW allowed other than LEOs), would they be allowed to carry? Now if Illinois keeps its no CCW for citizens, but you hold and out of state CCW from another state would you be allowed to carry?

The way the bill currently reads, I would say yes to both of your questions, rabywk. I see no mention of residency. But you can bet IL would interpret it differently!

  4. Cowboy,

As a Libertarian, I agree completely. Although you are correct, we must be realistic, only insurrection, or the spontaneous combustion of all liberal minded politicians would change what we have now.

HR218,18USC926A, Shall Issue from state to state, and soon nationwide carry, has been, will have to be through legislation.

I'm not too happy about it. I want small efficient Government that does not meddle in our lives. The only way to start the process is to never again vote Democrat, and carefully assess a Republican,Libertarian, or Independent candidate before voting them in.

    Off the soap box.

JPFO ALERT: SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY The National Rifle Association has done it. Again. Having advertised itself for more than a century as the nation'sforemost defender of the Second Amendment, the NRA has once againgiven aid and comfort to politicians -- all of the "usual suspects":Carolyn McCarthy, Charles Schumer, Patrick Leahy, Harry Reid, and thatperennial Judas goat John Dingell -- as well as to pressure groupslike the Brady Campaign, who are determined to destroy that right, byassisting passage of a law with the potential to strip hundreds ofthousands of military veterans of their basic right to own and carryweapons. This latest slap in the gun owner's face by the overstuffed suitsat the NRA -- the same gang who eagerly signed off on the Gun ControlAct of 1968, despite its origins in Hitler's Germany -- establishesthe "principle" that individuals with the slightest of mental health"problem" (anyone, for instance, who ever sought professional help formild depression or difficulty sleeping) have no inalienable right toself-defense. Dammit!
You're right,Woody.I was all excited, too. But,in truth, you are right. So,what should we do?What should we demand of Congress? That they knock down all of the states' laws forbidding the possesion and carrying of weapons by law abiding citizens?I am not being sarcastic,I am seriously asking.Cause I will write to my reps and demand that very thing. They already know me by name,I'm sure.

Repeal NFA 1934, GCA 1968 and FOPA 1986 abolish the unconstitutional IRS and BATF and all the B.S. goes away and we get back to being able to defend ourselves using the same or greater force, weapon etc that could possibly be used against us...

Still hard to imagine they are still trying to read more into "shall not be infringed"

What you propose is part of the solution. Voting for people who will do what is necessary will also help.

I'm trying to find out who in the NRA supported this legislation so that I may campaign against them when they come up for election. This bill passed with the approval of the NRA heavies. I thought about quiting, but the NRA is as much my voice as it is those on the board. But, those on the board can be removed and replaced with people who will support the Second Amendment and our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. That is another avenue to pursue.

Joining other groups protecting our rights to firearms will help as well.

    Woody

Look at your rights and freedoms as what would be required to survive and be free as if there were no government. Governments come and go, but your rights live on. If you wish to survive government, you must protect with jealous resolve all the powers that come with your rights - especially with the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Without the power of those arms, you will perish with that government - or at its hand. B.E. Wood

  10. If this passed would it mean that out of staters could carry in states that don't allow carry? Would it mean that my PA carry permit would allow me to carry in IL and WI?

I think they understand rights. They just don't think the sheeple should have any.
