“Concealed Carry”

WHEREAS: the Associated Student Government is a representative body that has the duty to create responses for its constituents on controversial issues; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED: that students of Texas State University-San Marcos through the body of the Associated Student Government Senate disagree with the administration’s policy that concealed handguns on campus are and should remain prohibited; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that this legislation be used as a means of creating a formal, representative statement on behalf of the majority of Texas State students ONLY and not a means for creating a policy or implementing an action; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that this legislation be forwarded to ASG Advisor Kathy Weiser, Dean of Students Dr. Margarita Arellano, Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Joanne Smith and President Dr. Denise Trauth upon its passage.
