That is in PA, the woman was in AZ. I don't know the laws in AZ, but I know that the power of citizens arrest is based on state law. In my state, there are no powers of citizens arrest.

Her response should have been "I'm a good person with a gun"

    As to the OP...
    Outstanding!!
If it doesn't fit, FORCE it! If it breaks then it needed to be replaced anyway.

She could have said, "The NRA sent me." Ha. I think her response was fine.

She did an excellent job of protecting herself, but answering in the affirmative to "are you a cop" was not appropriate, and had the person asking been some anti-gun fanatic, or an actual LEO, it could have created some issues after the fact.

I think she did good. I didn't get that she was impersonating a cop or implying that at all. If that was my wife, i'd be proud of her too.

When you have a gun in your hands you must be careful what you say. She is nowhere near being a cop, a better answer would be; "no I'm not, just someone who does not want to die today". I realize she probably thought about it later and I'm sure she had the adrenalin pumping at the time. I'm not condemning her, just offering my advice. Had something happened, it's possible she could have saved a life.

LOve all these responses stating what should have been said. Curious. How many of you practice not only your draw and shooting techniques, but your responses as well.

Unless you have walked the walk, give it a rest.

Lady did da** good job. I would bet money the person she said that too has no memory of the actual words spoken.

  10. This is what I love about those who live in the great state of Arizona: IWB. Looking to move there myself within the next three years. Little worried about the water supply question, though.

  11. She did not say she was a cop she said I am now! meaning she was going to defend herself and others. That what I got out of her statement. Is that what you train your students?? don't do anything cause the cops might come up behind you and have PC to shoot you? yes it happens cops kill cops ever year by accident. but do they stop protecting us or each other no they try to teach each other to read the incident before you you pull the trigger. She stood up for herself and for others in a large store where it could have a been a mass killing. She was not going to sit by. A women who was brave and stood up. She did not go guns blazing like the cops in NY who missed the bad guy so many time it was a joke on the Letterman show. they were shot at so I think they should have fired but they need more range time.
That's what CCW is we are prepared to defend our self and others we risk our self's to stand up to evil.
cause for evil to win only takes good men and women to do NOTHING!!! so by your standards fear of the cops or court is why we do nothing. That's why we fight for stand your ground and for CCW in the first place.Things like this!!!
Common sense is applied. real common sense. You jump before you think!!! think!! before you jump is this something that went bad? or did it stop the bad guy in his tracks? if you were facing the bad guy and he had a weapon and you did not if she stood up for you would you have said OH MY GOD!!!PUT THAT GUN DOWN YOU SILLY WOMAN!!!DO YOU WANT TO GET IN TROUBLE??? COPS MAY THINK YOUR A BAD GUY!! as your brain is blown out your skull by the real bad guy.
And considering how small a target that is that would be a great shot by the bad guy! When our people are brave is that how we treat them OH NO DON'T DO ANYTHING YOU GET IN TROUBLE!!!!
I am a shamed of any Man who think this lady is not HUNDRED percent a hero she stood up and by reading some of you you would have walked out. carrying a concealed gun. and have done nothing!!!
I am a marine VET and am proud of her. So MRS GR8GUNZ THANK YOU FOR YOUR BRAVE STAND!!
