The planners of a party in Hudson, Wis., are looking forward to a well-mannered picnic filled with political speeches, hot beverages — and guns.

Response has been mixed to the Hudson Open Carry Taxed Enough Already (or TEA) Party scheduled for Oct. 17 in Lakefront Park. Officials say qualified individuals can shorten the time it takes to get a concealed weapon license by visiting one of eight licensing division regional offices.

Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson said Monday that he is trying to relieve congestion caused by an unprecedented number of new applications.

There is legislation that is moving in the state legislature that could roll back unconstitutional gun control laws that have been passed by Congress.

That's right. Rep. Marlene O'Toole (R-Lady Lake) has introduced HB 21, the Firearms Freedom Act, to nullify many federal gun control laws with respect to indigenous Florida firearms.

NEW YORK — Investigators hired by New York City conducted stings at gun shows in states that have not closed the "gun show loophole" and found some vendors openly selling weapons to buyers who admitted they couldn't pass background checks.

Village leaders seem poised to adopt a rule allowing the open carry of firearms in most of the community, though they may continue to ban guns in community parks.
