ROCK HILL, SC – A 16-year-old girl is facing murder charges after an alleged attempted robbery ended with the death of her 18-year-old accomplice in Rock Hill early Friday morning.
As reported by Queen City News, officers with the Rock Hill Police Department responded around 2:20 a.m. on February 20 to a parking deck in the 100 block of Elizabeth Lane near East Main Street, where officers found an 18-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the 18-year-old and the 16-year-old girl allegedly conspired to rob a 15-year-old boy inside the parking deck. During the attempted robbery, the 15-year-old reportedly used a pistol and shot the older teen.
Police charged the 16-year-old girl with armed robbery and criminal conspiracy. She was also charged with murder due to her participation in a violent felony that resulted in the death of another person.
The 15-year-old was charged with possession of a pistol by a person under the age of 18. Both juveniles are currently in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Rock Hill Police stated the investigation remains ongoing.
