CHICAGO, IL — Chicago rapper 4Block Lil Mari got into a shootout Sunday while trying to carjack a woman who happens to be a concealed carry holder (CCL).
Multiple suspects, including 4Block Lil Mari, drove up to the woman and a 16-year-old. From what I can piece together, the suspects attempted to carjack them, and she fought back. During the shootout, she got shot twice in the leg, and the 16-year-old was shot in the body three times.
There are conflicting reports on whether the teen was Lil Mari, but it’s starting to look like he is on the run, and the 16-year-old who got shot was a victim.
SPOTNEWSonIG posted the scanner traffic on X, “Police said a 34-year-old woman was approached by multiple suspects when gunfire broke out. The woman, who was armed, exchanged shots with the offenders.”
Guns are not the problem; arrest and prosecution are the problem!
There is nothing in the local news about a CCL holder defending themselves, and if it weren’t for @Libs_OfChicago pointing it out to me, I may have missed it.
Could someone explain how this rapper and others can post pictures showing them with firearms that are illegal under Illinois law, yet they are never being arrested for firearm-related offenses?
I think every single gun in these images is illegal under the Illinois assault weapons ban.
I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m tired of hearing this is a gun problem, and we need more laws. Perhaps it’s time for someone to take a closer look at the other individuals in the images, or do they all receive a free pass as well?
Let’s enforce the laws we have and go after violent offenders.
I also see several “Glock devices”, so it’s not just Illinois laws are being broken here. Prison time I say.
