Nevada Campus Carry Bill Introduced – SB231

Yesterday, March 9, 2011, Nevada Senate Bill 231 was introduced that would allow current Nevada concealed carry permit holders carry on the property of the Nevada System of Higher Education. Current law only allows permit holders to carry on campus if they have written permission by the president of a branch or facility of the System.

SB231 also has to deal with authorizing the sheriff of a county to provide to persons who hold permits to carry concealed firearms information concerning instructors and 3  organizations that offer courses in firearm safety.

We’ll definitely be keeping our eye on this one. The full SB231 is below.
