Bank of America Doesn't Want McMillan Firearms Business

After having banked with Bank of America for 11 years, Kelly D. McMillan says they don’t want their business anymore because they are a firearms manufacturer.

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.

At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possible save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.”

“That is correct” he says.

I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”

“You have to do what you must” he said.

“So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?”
Mr Fox confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing let for him to say.

I think it is import for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don’t agree with a business’ political position I can not in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

Leaving BoA ASAP.

Jason Heiser

That is amazing!

wm tipton

Well, I’ll be shutting down my BoA Credit Card this evening.
As a gun owner Im disgusted.

Stephen J Natale

I though BofA were scumbags long before this, but this ended any chance of me ever going back. I think we need to really look into creating a more up to date 2a friendly bank listing.

I am all for not supporting a company that is anti-gun…but I have a question about how he can no longer accept BofA credit cards?  Any website I have ever seen offering online payments asks the question: Visa, MC, Am Exp, etc.  Not: Chase, BofA, WellsFargo, etc.

When I had my own retail business (long ago), I never even looked at what bank issued somebody’s credit card. I suspect that if I had refused to accept a VISA or MC card (and somebody complained), those companies would have threatened to cut me off.

I guess business can’t be too bad if they can afford to be shutting down existing accounts. They certainly won’t be needing my business.

I get come-ons from BoA a couple of times a week. I wish I had waited before shredding the one that came today.

In the future, I will use BoA’s postage-paid envelope to return their application sheet. Maybe I’ll write simply, “Sorry you don’t support the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.”

It costs them money to open those envelopes, but you’ll see—they’ll never take me off their mailing list.

I kept getting credit apps from a company years ago, and I used the return postage guaranteed, taped it to a box, stuffed a brick into the box and sent it. I stopped getting the solicitations.
A friend told me to write ‘deceased’ on an envelope once, but the delivery lady was a friend. She told me not to do that because the Post Office might return ALL of my mail, just assuming that I really was deceased….
To everyone, make sure you shred that crap (especially from BOA) because it appears that I just bought a BMW AND a Dodge Charger and wasn’t aware that I bought them…

I have a 20k credit line with B of A that will be paid in full shortly, then I am done!  I have other credit lines with CHASE  that are sufficient.  Anyone have a problem with CHASE/Slate let me know I only use credit to keep my score peaked so I can go anywhere.

Chase is owned by the Rockefeller’s!    Enough said.

if anybody leaves BofA because of this, they’ve had their heads in the sand.   you didn’t notice the thousands of other things they’ve done that were illegal or just plain dishonest?  you can’t find a local communtiy bank or a credit union?

Wow  one of the best industries in this screwed up economy seems to be firearms related so that was stupid.

Jeffrey M. Epstein

In 2006, a bank manager refused to allow our non-profit (501(c)3) to open a corporate checking account due to the politically-incorrect nature of our activities – in particular, hosting educational symposiums that were designed to  awaken the public to the threat of Islamic terrorism.  Based upon account presented above,  I’d be the last one to deal with Bank of America. Jeff

Heck, I dumped B of A years ago because I simply found them to be a lousy bank to deal with!   I’ve got a local Credit Union that has treated me like gold ever since.   B of A has been one of those major predatory banks that has screwed millions of Americans in home loans and all kinds of other things.   They’ve charged ridiculous fees and in general treated the American public and our needs with little more than an honorable ignorance.   Yes my fellow Americans . . . by all means dump this bank!    Send a message to them that if they don’t support us we’ll break them and anybody else that messes us over!

“Too big to fail . . . my ass!”

Liberals run around the country, approach businesses such as this in an attempt to strong arm them by threatening to boycott… Pepsico, Coca Cola, and many others have folded to these threats; while some like Walmart have stood firm… It’s time, as gun owners, to educate ourselves to which businesses are siding with these people and band together to protect our 2nd amendment rights.

I already do….I won’t buy anything GE, Nivea,  dropped our AARP membership, no soda, don’t go to movies by the radical left, won’t buy sleepnumber beds after they dropped Rush……pay attention…..there are lots out there we should not buy from

Same here.  Also canceled my Carbonite Backup after they dropped Rush.

if they dropped rush guess i will have to give them a chance, no body should support druggies like rush

Teddy Ralph Robertson

I’m a liberal and I support the 2nd amendment and if I banked with BOA, I’d pull my money out. Don’t go lumping people together with out thinking. I know it’s easier, but it also makes it easier for people to manipulate you. Use your brain and don’t just spout rhetoric.

Ted:  I partially agree with you.  But in using one’s brain, it’s time to forget these labels like liberal and conservative,  Democrat and Republican.  They are all the same bunch of traitors and crooks.  They are all the one world government people.  I prefer to talk about specific issues to which we are all entitled to an opinion.  On many issues we can perhaps find common ground and belief.   On the ones we don’t,  well those are the one’s we can debate.  I not only support the 2nd amendment,  I support the entire constitution.  That is what todays politiceans are trying to tear apart.  God Bless American again.

Liberals LIE its a fact. Liberalism is a mental disorder

Albert Lowe

As much as I would love to join the BofA boycott, I have direct deposit from work, and I just got it back this week.  Getting it setup via work was a total pain in the rear.  And it’s all a PITA from my companies end, nothing to do with any particular bank.

Only thing I can do is open an account at a different bank, and when my pay comes in, transfer it and I guess not use BofA for any other business, other than collecting my pay.

Good idea Albert,  but now they are going to start charging a per transaction fee.  So it will cost you to transfer those funds!

Yea being free can sometimes be a PITA and being sheeple is comfortable

Regrettably it’s not that easy to change banks but as soon as I can I will take my money elsewhere!

Dan Ess

Haven’t been a BOA fan for a looooong time; mostly a community bank person for the past 30+ years. Did BOA for a year and half, it was a girlfriend issue.  I have to wonder though, can they (the BOA) actually discriminate based on those grounds? Seems wrong, especially since our Government bailed their arses out. The Government supports the 2nd amendment, it’s part of the Constitution! Maybe BOA needs to be shutdown by the Federal Reserve board?

The Federal Reserve, the Treasury and Obama are all the same.  These boys are banking brothers.

I already closed out my credit card a couple years ago when they were giving cards to illegal aliens…….took me 3 phone calls to finally get it done

Mr McMillan you are a true Patriot.  I will do my best to purchase your products whenever possible.  Thank you and God Bless America.  Also, I learned several years ago that BOA (Barrack Obama Advocate) was not to be trusted and have since quit doing business with them.

what a bunch of jerks…they lost my money a looooong time ago!

We haven’t used a bank for many years … We’ve used our Credit Union for all of our personal business … absolutely no problems with our credit union … and, it’s full service!

BofA has been anti agricultural, anti guns for years.  They should give the money away because how can you protect a bank if you dont believe in guns or support the 2nd.  Great job McMIllen, you just pick up a new customer.

Bill Mc

BoA was dumped by me, years ago for their outrageous interest rates!  One can only hope that the Bank of …. America (America?  OF America? REALLY?) … one can only hope there’s a major backlash to their lack of respect for the U.S. (AMERICAN) Constitution’s Bill of Rights’ 2nd Amendment.
