On December 10, 2022, at approximately 3:40 AM, a 31-year-old Firearms Owner ID (FOID Card) and an Illinois Concealed Carry License holder was walking back to his vehicle in Chicago when someone inside a passing vehicle began firing at him.
He returned fire on the vehicle, injuring two suspects: one in the buttocks and the other in the knee. After release from the hospital, these two men were arrested. One other suspect remains at large as of December 10th.
The defender was unharmed.
It is unclear why this man was walking on the street at this late/early hour, but it seems he was minding his own business, perhaps just finishing working a late shift (or enjoying a night off) at a restaurant or club. Whenever possible, however, it is always advisable to avoid dangerous areas, especially at night.
The occupational hazards of being a criminal keep going up!
